VS Blog: Agent 47 vs Aiden Pearce (HITMAN vs WATCH_DOGS)
“'Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” - Leo Tolstoy
Some say that a weapon is a tool whose deadliness is judged by those who wield it. A gun is only as deadly as the man who holds it– but the question considered is never what broke the man holding that gun.
Once you go on the route of vengeance and deconstruct how you view the world, the question you must ask yourself is… what defines a weapon? It could be seen as a tool for defense, or something that defines who you are. In the hands of a world you are forced to live with, maybe you are that weapon.
Agent 47, the Freelancer Assassin from HITMAN.
Aiden Pearce, the Vigilante slash Fixer from WATCH_DOGS.
These two stealthy operatives are deadly because of those who’ve exploited them, and these two will make sure they’ll pay for it. But once that revenge story worked its course, they were pushed to accept what remained. They weren’t left with an illusion of choice, nor a chance to fix themselves. Instead, they became weapons, a cog in a system they could not control. The deadliness of their weapons comes not from themselves, but what they lack: humanity.
Between these two infiltrative and vigilant contract killers, while always attempting to gain the advantage in every mission, only one will be able to make it to the top. Will Aiden Pearce send the legendary hitman into a permanent black-out, or will Agent 47 finally silence the Fox of Chicago? We’ll find that out today on Valve’s Versus!
Before We Begin
In this blog, we’ll be referencing the full extent of both 47 and Pearce’s stories as well as miscellaneous game guides and manuels or online media. That means we’ll be going over nearly all of the games and novels from both series, as well as the mentioned miscellaneous sites and guides. While there are some books that could not be accessed at the time of this blog’s release, updates will likely come in tandem with their releases.

For this blog, we’ll also be granting 47 and Aiden capabilities from across their appearances, regardless of what abilities they might have lost from an earlier installment or abilities they gained when they were older. That means you’ll see a mix and mash of 47’s Instinct modes and abilities between Hitman: Absolution and HITMAN III, and a mix and mash of Aiden’s abilities he’s granted in WATCH_DOGS in tandem with his abilities from WATCH_DOGS LΞGION. After all, neither of them narratively express growing weaker with their capabilities as time goes on, and have narrative reasons mostly as to why their kits would vary.
Before we truly start, though, we need to set some ground rules about how we’re looking at both combatant’s skill sets due to how important miscellaneous factors are to their fights regarding the environment or tactics within it. We’ll be talking about more indirect aspects of combat for either, as the biggest aspects of their fighting styles come down to the environment around them and how they prepare for missions. We believe it’d be best to tackle Aiden Pearce when factoring in his means to hack the environment and what that means for a fight that takes place in areas he’s local to, such as London or in the city of Chicago. Granted Agent 47 always takes on targets at their destinations, while Aiden being taken on unexpectedly by hitmen is… uh… that’s sort the whole reason he’s a mess, it makes thematic sense to approach the fight in this way too. Although a home field advantage is usually never given to characters particularly under the rules of Death Battle (besides like… Kira vs Heisenberg), it is a key factor of Aiden Pearce’s kit that he can interact with ctOS technology while it is in turn one of the biggest factors of Hitman’s gameplay as well as a similar key factor to how Agent 47 performs in missions between whether or not he’s familiar with an environment or if he himself is being infiltrated upon. We think it is ultimately better to put Agent 47 is a more familiar situation he takes on in nearly every mission (infiltrating a target) than putting him in a quickdraw fight where he likely won’t be able to put the best parts of his kit to use.
On a similar note, it feels only fair to focus on Agent 47’s aspects of preparation and infiltration, rather than ruling out his ability to prepare for a fight. While blogs typically wouldn’t focus on this regard for characters, this capability of preparation is a strong suit of the assassin and is a key component of Hitman’s gameplay, as well as something Aiden Pearce both constantly works around and performs in his home series when facing against targets. This offers both the means to use the environment (a staple of either series) to their advantage, as well as a focus on stealth or how their skills can be applied to specific situations that they find themselves in. We admittedly do think that it is possible to focus on either without needing to draw in prep time or environmental usage, but it is far too important to both characters for us to not cover this topic in the blog.
All in all, this blog will be covering their arsenals under the idea that both would be able to fully prepare themselves in finding the other and taking them down. We’ll also be focusing on both Agent 47’s environmental tactics and how he uses his skills in situations, as well as how Aiden Pearce interacts with the system of ctOS with his hacking, in order to get the most out of either’s skills and tactics that they would demonstrate in their home series.
Background
Agent 47
“Always knew I didn't belong in this world. I wasn't made for this. But I'll never forget- those who betrayed me, and those who never failed my trust. I'll be carrying nothing from Gontranno but this lesson: never trust anyone and rely on your instincts. Forget the past. I'll never find peace here. So, I'll seek justice for myself. I'll choose the truth I like.”
Agent 47 was never a normal kid. Well… probably because he’s a clone. A victim of experimentation in the 1960s by famous Dr. Ort-Meyer, he was one of the runts of the clones that the doctor bred. However, despite being more emotional than the rest, which led to him being seen as weaker by his brethren, he was a perfect clone. He had occasionally took care of animals he found in the center, until they were often killed by his brothers, which made him far more moody than the rest. As a result of this, he was looked keenly by the doctor and his workers, although he often stabbed workers who tried to give him injections at the time. Yet, this was not a negative attribute, as he was looked highly upon due to his high skill and perception of the environment, often hitting perfect accuracy marks in tests run. Although his mind was altered to believe he killed one of his brothers and awarded for it, he and his brother 6 escaped from containment at one point, and his last years at the Asylum led to Ort-Meyer attempting to remove Agent 47’s emotions. Although it seemed to work, Agent 47 simply burrowed his emotions far too down for them to matter anymore, and eventually Ort-Meyer in tandem with a betrayal from Providence sent out Agent 47.
During this time out, Agent 47 eventually stumbled upon Diana Burnwood when the ICA was sent after a target known as Franklin Marchard. This man was a scientist who was the target of four of the top ICA agents at the time, who Agent 47 immediately disposed of and then killed Marchand on his own. This led to the ICA hiring him under Burnwood’s supervision, although in opposition to the Board Member Erich Soders. With Diana’s rule-bending, she brought Agent 47 into the ICA under her influence, who’s first mission was to take out four men he was cloned from. This was all under Dr. Ort-Meyer’s influence, however, who sent Agent 47 one final contract. This contract led 47 to his childhood home, where he took down another doctor responsible for his cloning to Ort-Meyer’s discretion. He would kill Ort-Meyer at the time upon encountering him, and immediately left with his father’s car, fleeing away. This wasn’t just a flee to get away from murder, but from his life as an assassin entirely, as he began to find faith at a Catholic Church.
At this time, Agent 47’s pastor was kidnapped, leading to him rejoining the ICA in order to gain information on his captors. He was obligated to give them back a favor for what they helped him with, and therefore worked with them to take down targets hired. With a long line of criminals to take down, Agent 47 stumbled upon the true plot of one of his uncles, who set Agent 47 up as a target for another one of Dr. Ort-Meyer’s clones. However, when disposing of the clone, it led to Sergei himself having to fight against 47 and ultimately getting killed in action. Thanks to Agent 47’s skill, he was able to save his pastor, who wished Agent 47 to stay on the good path of life… although Agent 47 realized that all he was designed for was to be an assassin, a weapon of the trade, and nothing more. He would work as an assassin for many years afterwards, taking down threats to the ICA and his own position, although the ICA’s power decreased over time. Upon the ICA losing almost all of its board members with the exception of Agent 47 and his employer Diana in the company, he took on the Franchise, a massive rival assassination company responsible for ultimately taking down the ICA.
Diana had hatched a plan at the time once Agent 47 had successfully taken down the greatest members of the Franchise, which led to her… poisoning him. This wasn’t necessarily in bad faith though, as Agent 47 was knocked unconscious and presumed dead. Once the Franchise set up a funeral for Agent 47 with the intention to study his body and steal a sample of his bone marrow for DNA, Diana was able to reawaken Agent 47 and allow him to kill the remaining members of the Franchise. He took back work in the ICA, which had at the time led to the reveal of another illegal experiment– Victoria. At the time, Diana had jumped ship from the ICA with Victoria to protect the girl, which led to Agent 47 needing to assassinate his former employer under the ICA’s management. However, as he “assassinated” Diana (purposely missing a lethal shot so that she would survive), he was given information on Victoria’s backstory, and understood her situation. Armed with the intention to protect her, he fought against the ICA and those who betrayed him, eventually finding his way to the inner circle that kidnapped Victoria once he himself was betrayed. After his services, Diana invites him back to the ICA, where he takes up close working back with Diana after Victoria is presumably allowed to live a life on her own without interference from the ICA no longer.
During a contract with the ICA, Agent 47 was given work by a mysterious “Shadow Client” that Diane and 47 both intended on finding the identity of. Having found out about the connection between the ICA and a hidden company known as Providence, as well as the Shadow Client’s connection to Agent 47’s past, Diana and 47 both worked on discovering their identity. After assassinating the previously-mentioned Erich Soders, who sold out data from the ICA to Providence, Diana was approached by Providence’s top controller for information regarding 47 for trade of the Shadow Client’s information, which she accepted. The ICA would continue sending 47 against members of Providence, although Agent 47 would eventually be sent after the Shadow Client too. His name was Lucas Grey, an off-the-grid assassin.. and… Agent 47’s brother!! Due to a pact the two had made in their youth, both assassins agreed to swap sides and work against the companies in control of them, working together on a variety of missions alongside small influence from Diana. Eventually, the two would take on the heads of Providence as their targets, where Agent 47 and Grey would take them on in assassination attempts. This would be cool and all… but, eventually, Grey would lose in a shootout against a military unit of CICADA. Although 47 intended on saving his brother, Grey had in turn killed himself as to prevent 47 from being busted and ensure he could pull off the final assassinations needed.
Working with Olivia Hall, a hacker and ally of his brother’s, Agent 47 was convinced that the main way to end this conflict was to reveal the ICA records to the public. On the other hand, Diana was convinced by Edwards to join his side due to Agent 47 and Grey being responsible for her parents death when she was young. This was a ploy, however, as Diana is simply too goated to fall for deception, as she intended on using this role to get closer to Agent 47. Once Agent 47 confronts Diana about the idea that she betrayed him, she sedates him, leading to him being knocked unconscious. This was another ploy by Diana, however, as she used this to send 47 into a situation closer to Edwards. On a train travelling through the winter mountains, Agent 47 was intended to have his memory erased by Edwards, but instead makes his way through the train to face. Although Edwards wants to influence 47 to administer the memory-erasing dosage to himself once they meet, the assassin refuses, and instead injects Edwards with the same syringe. Thanks to the take-down of Edwards, Diana went through with disassembling Providence, leading to the fall-out of the ICA and any of its rival companies. With this open, Agent 47 would take up a freelancer position with Diana as his employer, where they would agree to take contracts under the idea of fighting for justice.
Aiden Pearce
“I don’t know what Damien wanted in those final moments. Death, I suppose. I thought I could fix a little girl's death, but instead it led to all of this. Exposed lies, corrupted kings, a broken city. And me, a changed man. I don't look back anymore. I don't regret. I look forward. Everything is connected, and I'll use that to expose, to protect, and if necessary - to punish.”
In his youth, Aiden Pearce was always a rough kid, always intending on saving his family from any danger. Due to his paranoia and belief that his family could always be in danger, Pearce took up computers and hacking with the intention to protect his family. In tandem with this, he began to draw more and more of his attention towards criminal deeds and gangs, eventually joining one for benefit. During his time in this gang, Aiden took up lessons on combat and marksmanship, eventually operating as an underground fixer– a contract assassin– for pay. However, Aiden intended on leaving this past behind him as his sister had two children, leading to him taking up a fatherly role to them due to the absence of their father. However, after being threatened with an arrest after being recognized for injuries, Aiden took the life of an innocent man. This inspired him to take on more research in psychology and intimidation, all with the goal of being able to learn about how others functioned and how he himself could recognize behavior. He wanted to ensure he could win any fight before it began, and as a result dug himself into a deeper hole.
Aiden eventually took arms with a fellow hacker known as Damien Brenks. He and Brenks taught eachother a variety of different skills in hacking before taking their own biggest work, which was a job at the Merlaut Hotel. This hotel was owned by the richest guy in Chicago, Lucky Quinn, who was a man with his own criminal record. The man believed that Aiden and Damien were after incriminating videos of the Chicago mayor, instead, and issued out hits on the two men after they completed this job. Angered at Brenks’ greed, he cut off his fellow hacker, but had the unthinkable happen– as two hitmen that night had followed his car. The two fixers shot out his tires, leading to a car crash where he died with his nephew and niece in the car. As a result of the crash, Aiden’s niece Lena died, and he was thereafter set on vengeance against whoever placed the hit on him. As a result of this, Aiden established his own secret hideout and began to work as a vigilante, looking into anyone who was related to the death of his niece and swiftly taking them down. He was aligned with Jordi Chin, a Fixer who would extensively support Aiden in his goals at the cost of a few favors. Eleven months later, he found out the fixer, one Maurice Vega, who led to death of his niece, however Jordi’s involvement cut the revenge short due to having called the police to cover both of their tails due to them being present in a heavily populated sports stadium. After leaving Jordi with Vega, Aiden left, and had to make his way to his nephew’s birthday.
During this birthday party, Aiden intercepted a phone call that threated his sister with her life, and in turn pursued the man responsible. After catching the target and finding the location of the man who led him to call the phone, he assigns another contractor known as BadBoy17 who works with the DedSec hacktivist group to find the person behind the “prank phone call”. However, BadBoy17 intends on meeting face-to-face with Aiden, revealing himself as… a girl!! Known as Clara Lille, she helps Aiden find the location of the man responsible, who was revealed to be his former partner Damien. He orders Aiden to meet in person, now reduced to what seemed to be a drunkard on the street, who informs Aiden about information on the hit– the presence of a third hacker– and how he wants to join back up. Aiden refuses to join alongside Damien, so after Aiden takes down a witness of the situation at the stadium with Vega, Damien reveals to have kidnapped Aiden’s sister. Now forced to push himself into saving his sister, he gets into a confrontation with several people in line with Damien, eventually having to also save his nephew who ran away out of fear of the kidnapping. After having set up an abandoned ctOS facility as home base with Clara after Damien’s fixers lead to his original motel room being destroyed, eventually using ctOS in itself to look deeper into a gang where Damien had sent an IP address with the location of. Exploiting the Viceroys, the powerful gang which masqueraded as a simple arms dealer, into blackmailing one of its members, Aiden uses information from their tech to find out that there would be an auction happening that day. This was a sex slave auction, where Aiden would look into the members list and find one Nicholas Crispin.
By using the identity of Crispin, he would fake his identity and hacks the dog tags of the Viceroy’s leader, Iraq. He would also meet up with Quinn, who would see through Aiden’s disguise, but could not do much as Aiden was able to get away while bringing a distraction with the police force after calling them to the auction. After using a blackmail of a member of the Viceroys, he attempts to make his way into the main terminal of the Viceroys’ where he would attempt to hack into it, but was forced to meet a former developer Raymond Kennedy who was man responsible for creating ctOS’ encryption system and would be the only man able to break through into the files. Although Kennedy was hostile at first, Aiden eventually partnered up with the man now known as T-Bone, which gave him enough firepower to eventually come in line with Damien. However, due to another fixer known as Defalt, who Aiden would need to dispatch, he had to interact with Damien without any means to trade for his sister. With this, Damien casts pictures of Aiden all across the city, although Pearce luckily avoids it. After a fake phone call is able to be deciphered by Raymond Kennedy after siphoning back the data from Defalt, Aiden was able to save his sister from where Damien kept her locked up. Afterwards, Aiden then makes his way to Caleb Quinn, which had been the man responsible for the hits placed on him. After fighting through Quinn’s fixers, he’s able to meet face to face with the man who hides away in his panic room with bulletproof glass. However, Quinn was not entirely safe, as after Quinn attempts to convince Pearce on his side, Aiden hacks his pacemaker to shut down his heart.
However, due to conflicts with Defalt, Aiden previously believed Clara was responsible for the hit. This alerted Kennedy, who was informed that Clara attempted to trade herself for Nicole’s life after Aiden had already saved his sister. This led to Clara being killed by Damien’s hitmen as soon as Aiden tried to save her, and caused Aiden to feel remorseful for her death. He held full intention to end everything that happened with the reset of ctOS as a whole, which was a plan pushed in full throttle after Damien gained full control over the ctOS system. Damien, believing that everyone should suffer like he has after the hit placed on him, begins to destroy the city. However, Aiden is able to establish a virus created by T-Bone that resets ctOS, triggering a blackout and giving the location of Damien as a result, a lighthouse. After making his way to Damien, Aiden goes in gunpoint with Damien, but is intercepted by Jordi. Despite this, Aiden uses a final hack to knock Jordi and Damien off of their feet, which leaves Jordi to be thrown off the lighthouse and for Damien to be shot and killed. As a result of all of this, Aiden embraced his role as a vigilante, and became a notable figure in Chicago after seemingly losing everything. He would take on targets for years, expanding far out of Illinois and into California eventually, before years later making his way to London as a contract from Jordi, which he accepts due to his grown-up nephew living there.
By Jordi, he is given the initiative to infiltrate Broca Tech labs and find dirt on the CEO for his contract, although he finds out the hidden connection instead with the government. After having the main piece of tech, the BrocaBridge, he was there for getting stolen by a hacker known as Wrench, Aiden is eventually incapacitated and locked up with robots by the CEO of Broca Tech, Thomas Rampart. However, through his ingenuity, Aiden was able to hack his way out, and make his way to his nephew. After a conflict due to Aiden’s actions in their past, Jackson and Aiden would agree to work together, although he is eventually pushed to meet with Thomas again. Wrench, however, is also present with Thomas and supports Aiden, as he learns that the BrocaBridge acts as an explosive and uses it to knock out Thomas. However, due to the stress of security and having to fight his way out, Aiden falls into a coma. Thanks to the founder of BrocaTech, however, Jackson is able to save Aiden after the two use technology to dig into Aiden’s inner psyche, revealing to Jackson how truly scarred Aiden was so many years ago, and awakens Aiden after he helps his uncle out of his inner consciousness. This leads to the two working together once again as Wrench planned to kill Thomas Rampart once again, and upon his defeat, the three begin to work alongside Wrench. Eventually, although not given much of an avenue narratively, all three of them join alongside DedSec in London, a hacker terrorist group that had been once present in Chicago.
Experience & Skill
Agent 47
Agent 47 is a master class assassin and top of the agency regarded as an urban legend across the world, and for good reason. Early in his career [Codename 47/Contracts], Agent 47 had displayed a mastery of several firearms such as shotguns, rifles, or handguns, melee combat and usage of the garrote wire, as well as the usage of improvised traps like car bombs or pretending to be a taxi driver and orchestrating events such as massive gang wars to eliminate powerful targets with the usage of intel from the ICA. He has taken on targets who’ve evaded death before, such as the drug lord Pablo Ochoa, who he can immediately take on and dispatch in combat. He has also outsmarted and taken down world renowned mercenaries (who is also a trained terrorist), and missions at the time required Agent 47 to be able to disarm a nuke which was controlled by a worldwide gun trader. In certain concept art, Agent 47 around this time can even fight against squads of soldiers on his own. However, even as Agent 47 had stepped out of these killings once he killed his “father”, he was pushed to join back once again under the ICA where he eventually went along with being considered a killer. He’s been able to kill other assassins with ease including other clones, and in turn has applied more intricate assassination techniques like shutting down a power generator and using night vision goggles to find his way around. By the climax of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Agent 47 is able to apply his entire arsenal of weapons to a fight, taking on tons of bodyguards in a one man army fight usually by outgunning. All of this came down to Agent 47 taking on Sergei in a direct fight, where he would eventually kill the man and reclaim his role as an assassin. Within Hitman: Enemy Within, he sets up an elaborate trap by mimicking World War 2-era techinques by using wire to take out a motorcyclist target. He always intends on using the environment to its best advantage, calculating the most optimal strategies to use items or people in countermaneuevers to attacks.
Later down in his career when he was a top agent at the ICA with a 100% success rate in every mission, Agent 47 had shown the ability to apply tactics to his missions such as poisons, as well as applying distinctly more environmental tactics, particularly benefitting from the usage of his disguises at this point in time or hiding in vents to sneak around and gather intel. Agent 47 could also wield parts of the environment such as natural fog in order to cover his tracks during a police pursuit, or being able to cloak in the shadows of the remains of a room to avoid being seen by helicopters while in front of their search light. He was also capable of setting up and using an exploitation of a lab’s ventilation system to create a fog thick enough to prevent people from seeing one another when close to eachother, while he himself could sneak up and kill his target, making full use of the environment with the ability to create distractions with lab technology within this mission. Afterwards, he took on Sanchez, another physical experiment crafted by Dr. Ashford Nearing the end of Absolution, Agent 47 canonically fought off all of the Saints in a direct fight and took them all out in a one-on-many scenario with his skill and marksmanship alone, all of which who had been given formal training in combat and some of which having prior experience in combat. He can makeshift silencers for weapons, use weaknesses in AI to set up elaborate traps such as making a robot’s creator its target by feeding it biometric data (his face), fight against and kill a former top ICA agent prior to himself … and just beat him to death in one of the potential routes.
Even when he had been growing up, 47 was capable of fighting off soldiers as a child with sheer skill, and in his teenager years he was creating car bombs for assassination attempts (a manufacturing skill he has only since improved upon) as well as sneaking his way onto war grounds and military areas in order to kill two scientists, killing a man by launching a cork at him and detonating several other wine bottle corks into him, eliminated multiple Russian guards in the Chernobyl exclusion zone without detection by outgunning each guard, discretely killed a man with a chandelier while he was in the area framing it as an accident, has taken on heavily armed guards alongside 6 with limited weaponry which ended in 47 escaping by 6’s sacrifice, detonated a pipe against the movement of a train so that it would fire straight through the ears of his target and kill him instantly, and easily defeated multiple agents of the ICA in a moments notice without allowing any of the four agents from successfully pulling off their assassination, simultaneously taking down their target in the process. This led to Diana reaching out to him through her strange attraction to his skills and background (or lack thereof) when she began first working under the ICA as management of the agents that Agent 47 had all killed. On top of combat skill, he retains skills in other departments useful to his mission. Agent 47 seems to know several languages, including understanding phrases in German, Russian, Spanish, and various others granted he can translate naturally on the fly in many missions.
Aiden Pearce
Aiden Pearce is a master hacker established all throughout Chicago and thereafter into the rest of the world as ctOS became vastly established. In a moment, he has shown the means to hack an entire building in order to drain money out of it, create blackouts both in buildings and across the city, and a variety of different hacking techniques other parties struggle to perform. He was able to casually hack into the servers of the Loop, which was something Dedsec itself failed to perform. Immediately following this, you as the player are introduced into Multiplayer where Aiden uses resources to find out other hackers and their identities as they stalk Aiden by hiding in crowds. This gives him the opportunity to seek out the fixer, and take him out once he identifies the enemy fixer. Aiden is generally able to deal with enemy fixers with no problem, further setting the stage for how powerful his capabilities are. With Jordi’s support, Aiden got arrested and put behind bars and mere access to his phone allowed him to escape, as well as initiate combat with officers and make sure his witness could not speak out on his case.
He can apply his tactics in awareness for situations, too, such as deducing that Wrench might have either been causing remote attacks on people or that he was simply invisible (although this might be more obvious than implied) in the line with Legion while in London, which was effectively branded with a new ctOS system. Early in his career, however, he was able to chase the hitman who killed his niece for a time period that at most would have expended less than 11 months. After Jordi had gotten the police called, Aiden’s mission is to get out of the building without being caught, which he does successfully perform without getting caught and creating a stadium blackout. He has also used hacking to gain intel on enemies which he can do just by looking in their general direction, using it to get blackmail material or find out special attributes of a person like their career, criminal charges, or if they might commit a crime/are dangerous. This mission in particular points Aiden towards hacking into cameras in order to plan out an attack on an enemy gang, leading to him killing the whole section of Bedbug’s gang. By blackmailing Bedbug with clips of his betrayal to his leader Iraq, he was able to make his way to a private slave auction by faking the identity of a rich guy… by killing him. In the words of a psychologist, Aiden Pearce always masks himself, always intending on gaining an upper hand in every situation possible even if it’s non-hostile.
Pearce definitely isn’t a slacker in combat, either. He can easily take down armed guards and soldiers, being skilled enough to outgun entire police rushes against him in turn. He can win entire shootouts single handedly, taking out groups of police en masse in a prison while he would be armed with very little except scavenged weapons and his phone. He has also NSFW protected himself while barely armed, and even while drunk could still keep up with Raymond Kennedy in combat despite being at an obvious disadvantage. Even by the end of the game after everything is said and done, Aiden was still fighting crime in Chicago until he was trapped in WATCH_DOGS 2 after extending towards San Francisco due to a prepared assault, and then in his older years reappeared in London retaining those same combat skills with support of Dedsec. He is regarded as a legendary combatant, and looked highly upon DedSec members like Marcus as well as others due to his crime-fighting and hacking notoriety.
Abilities
Agent 47
Superhuman Physiology
Agent 47 is far more than just a regular assassin as he’s *gasp* a clone! But still not just any clone, he’s the clone. More precisely, Agent 47 is considered the perfect clone, being portrayed as easily superior even to later generations meant to mimic him (Agent 48 clones) and has only been rivaled by other clones very contextually. Agent 47 is molded from the DNA of very powerful people, being the five targets of his in Codename 47 that he was able to dispatch one-by-one, including the geneticist that made him: the greatest “father”. He was genetically engineered to have their best traits, and as a result has become a physical powerhouse unrivalled by anyone else. He also retains superhuman resistances and general capabilities. For example, despite 47 being shot unconscious in the past with sedatives in his youth, he has since developed a sort-of resistance to internal toxins, like in Codename: 47 where he can tank shots from the Blowgun should he become aggressive towards members of the U’Wa Tribe that can otherwise render trvets unconscious. He is also able to see others through fog that is so dense that other people are unable to see through it. He’s so superhuman that he can even harm ghosts!!! … and fly. I guess.
Instinct Mode
Instinct is the form of 47’s enhanced sensory perception and combat skill, allowing him to visualize his environment and sense those around him giving him a chance to detect enemies and what he can use in the environment, as well as his targets and any other potential threats. Due to his generally enhanced senses, Agent 47 is simply a very capable combatant with just them in mind. Instinct also allows him to use a technique known as “point-shooting”, where 47 perceives time to a halt and can aim for multiple shots in the span of less than a second explicitly before enemies can completely perceive his presence or react to his attacks. This gives him the ability to be able to first slow down time in a “tag mode” and pan over to enemies to “tag” them. This allows 47 to take out targets before they can kill him, making it a powerful tool in missions where he needs to retain his stealth and make it out without too many injuries. In relation to this, 47 can additionally slow down time when he pulls off a headshot, giving him extra time to aim and take down targets. Agent 47 can also use his Instinct Mode to “catch a glimpse of the immediate future”. In tandem with this, Instinct mode also allows him to perceive miscellaneous aspects such as the blast radius of explosions, making it useful for making his way around traps and highly guarded areas. In usage, Instinct gives him the ability to view an enemy’s path of movement to set up strikes or environmental kills– or detonate explosives in their path! This path of prediction is outlined in a stroke of flames that only 47 is able to see. Contextually, all of this is simply regarded as his “combat training” and is only visually seen because it’s supposed to represent Agent 47’s skill rather than an ability … and it obviously got nerfed for balancing purposes, but still is regarded as 47’s sheer skill.
Master of Disguise
A primary gimmick in the Hitman series is Agent 47’s masterful ability to disguise and impersonate various roles in order to get closer to his target. These disguises always seem to work perfectly– as he’s become much more skilled in this craft that those policing areas aren’t able to recognize him or distinguish him from other staff, while this used to be the case in earlier games. On certain missions, 47 has also gone to simply set up disguises by what is present in the area, rather than needing to steal it from unconscious people by gathering the clothes necessary. By hiding his face, 47 is able to supernaturally cloak his disguises with Instinct, preventing those who would naturally detect him by his clothes even if they have seen him prior or would detect him otherwise, even from behind. By using his skill to cloak himself completely, 47 is able to get away with disguises such as pretending to be a suit of armor or a scarecrow. In the grounds of Blood Money and later games, 47 is skilled enough to even mimic even his high-profile targets in order to access other targets without arousing suspicion, even if they are completely different physically, through his deception. One of 47’s weaknesses is a keen eye, but he can detect those who are able to innately see through his disguises and plan around them if needed. 47’s disguises aren’t restricted to just clothes, either, as he can also wield particular items to mask the best for a situation like pretending to be a barber or bartender, or even disguise his stealthy entrances to an area by driving in an ice cream truck (for example). One of the most impressive cases of Agent 47 comes from the beginning of Hitman: Enemy Within, with him being able to pull off a disguise when he pretended to hold the identity of a prolific biker gangster. By disguising as him, he was able to break into a high-profile meeting with his friends who “recognized him” after four years despite not being the same person. He has also pulled off convincing disguises of popular celebrities like Helmut Kruger,
Assassination Techniques
In Hitman Absolution, Agent 47 can apply a variety of different techniques in assassinations to gain various increases of stats or weapon handling.
Aiden Pearce
Focus
One of Aiden’s primary abilities is known as “Focus”, a perception-slowing power that allows him to effectively slow down time. With this enhanced perception, he can aim at targets before they can fully react to him, and thereby take them out with a well-aimed gunshot. This is demonstrated as Aiden’s reaction time to decisions in gunfights, varying between four seconds and seven seconds. With the addition of pills such as Focus Boost, Aiden can effectively stay on his toes all the time in combat for moments of stress that would require him to stay on guard. Aiden can also use it in melee conflict and vehicle chases, ensuring he can act swiftly in any scenario to end a fight.
However, Aiden does need to activate this in response or otherwise if he’s able to react to a situation, which has led to Aiden being put into pretty sticky situations when someone attacks him out of the blue or he’s too exhausted to fight.
Stealth Mastery
A big factor of Aiden’s combat is that he’s pretty much as sly as a fox, granted stealth is one of the main ways you can play WATCH_DOGS… yeah, really, even if no one does. He can take on targets from various angles, such as behind them, or even come in from above to deliver a killing blow. He’s also able to use cover as a method in order to hide away from foes and potentially even outgun them if he’s in a fight. As demonstrated in the beginning of WATCH_DOGS, Aiden had to learn from his mistakes as he was put into a situation that led to him being discovered, resulting in the death of his niece, leading to him becoming a vigilante who couldn’t be captured by the police across an (at least) 11-month span beginning from his niece’s death. His hacking comes into play with his stealth, too, as he can just bump into someone and take information and play the role as an unsuspecting citizen. This is often used to steal money from ATMs or give him the ability to simply find one’s identity.
Skill Tree
In WATCH_DOGs, Aiden Pearce is able to upgrade himself and his capabilities as he pushes against evil, stopping crime across the city. This allows Aiden Pearce to expand his overall kit and powerset.
Focus: Unlocks the ability for Aiden to use Combat Focus, which slows down time and perception. Aiden can vastly increase its duration with Improved Focus and in the final stage Maximized Focus. He can also increase the span of which he slows down time with Slowed Focus, and replenish his Focus Meter when he’s at critical health with Critical Focus.
Quick Switch: Increases Aiden’s weapon switch speed.
Pistol Expert: Increases the fire rate of semi-automatic pistols.
Shotgun Expert: Increases shotgun damage against vehicles.
Sniper Rifle Expert: Increases the steadiness of aiming with sniper rifles.
Auto Weapons Expert: Increases burst precision with all automatic weapons.

Jam Coms Boost: Increases the duration of the Jam Coms gadget.
Precision Hacking: Decreases the size of an enemy Hacker’s area that can be tracked, allowing for an easier way to scope them out.
Security Footage: Grants Aiden a picture of an enemy, allowing him to pick them out of a crowd, becoming especially useful when nearby.
Operative Traits
As an Operative in Bloodline, Aiden Pearce is granted several abilities that are supposed to parallel his capabilities in his prime. Despite being 55 years old, Aiden is still kicking as an expert fighter, and retains all of his same potency with skills in line with his previous conflicts.
Focus: After a takedown, Aiden gains slow motion aim.
Aiden’s Arsenal: Aiden is able to use any weapon that can be wielded by another Operative.
System Crash: Aiden can disable all nearby electronics with this ability.
Gunslinger: Well-timed reloads buff Aiden’s damage as well as decrease cooldown time.
Bloodline is a prequel DLC to the LΞGION game which is canon and retains them within the main story, so Aiden obviously retains these abilities.

Gun Hack: Aiden can hack into an enemy’s gun and jam it for a quick and eventful surprise attack.
Parcel Drone Hack: Aiden can hack delivery drones. Pretty useful?
Riot Drone Hack: Aiden can hack Riot drones, which are some of the strongest technology used by enemies. This can be upgraded to control them against enemies or fellow drones.
Turret Hack: Aiden can shut down turrets and hijack them to target enemies or automatically target other turrets.
Aiden can also upgrade his general kit and access to abilities that come from his Hacking.
Shroud: Upon taking a target down, turns the body invisible to enemies.
Skin Mesh: Reduces the damage Aiden takes.

Turret Deactivation: Grants Aiden the ability to approach a turret from behind and permanently shut it down.
Combat Drone Deactivation: After knocking down a combat drone, Aiden can approach it and permanently shut it down.
Equipment
Agent 47
Assassin Outfits
A master-class assassin will always need a professional suit for any occasion, especially for pulling off kills. Agent 47 usually wears specifically tailored suits once fixing up his damaged suit in Absolution, but can wear a variety of different outfits for any occasion, such as more casual wear, disguise as a chicken mascot, or even a pirate outfit. Agent 47 has also occasionally worn equipment into missions, particularly early on in the series.
Earpiece: Agent 47 often wears an earpiece for missions to communicate with his mission operator, very often Diana Burnwood but has also been used to contact ICA employers generally.
Camouflage Gear: In Hitman: Codename 47 during the Find the U’Wa Tribe mission and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin during the mission Hidden Valley, Agent 47 wields camouflage gear and equipment allowing him to walk through the grounds unidentified.
Forest Camo: Agent 47 wears more commonly-identified military camo in this mission.
Winter Camo: Agent 47 wears a white parka.
Tactical Wetsuit: Agent 47 can wear a fullbody wetsuit which is typically worn on his personal boat.
Skydiving Suit: Agent 47 can wear a dark helmet with a radio inside when skydiving.
Although this comes more in the grounds of preparation, Agent 47 can very often go undercover and find outfits for a mission should he have enough “mastery points” (awareness of an area).
Briefcase
A staple of Agent 47’s arsenal, the ICA Briefcase gives the assassin an option to hide their equipment for a mission. This becomes particularly useful with weapons such as sniper rifles, which can be reassembled on the fly for occasions in a mission. In other missions when a briefcase might be suspicious, Agent 47 may substitute it for other containers such as a guitar case or shopping bag which gives effectively the same capability.
The briefcase isn’t solely used for the means of carrying around equipment, however, as Agent 47 can use it as a weapon too. Due to special properties and technology within it, the briefcase is able to be tossed and continuously home in on a target that it was thrown at.
Lockpick
A standard tool wielded by the assassin, the Lockpick is a multi-tool equipped with a hook, although it likely retains other parts of the standard lockpick set. This allows Agent 47 to easily open doors without breaking them as other methods would cause, making it a powerful piece of gear to bring on missions where areas would normally require clearance with keys or cards. 47 can also wield this in other cosmetic styles, such as a skeleton finger or in different colors. However, Agent 47 doesn’t always need to carry a lockpick, as he is skilled enough to pick doors even with old rusty nails.
Coin
The most ideal and innovative piece of technology in history, the coin is an example of one of the few simplest items that Agent 47 can use to make missions far easier. These coins act as lures for enemies, which will draw attention to them when thrown by Agent 47. He often uses these to distract guards or personnel so that he can sneak around, or otherwise distract his target into a compromised situation. They have come in various different colors and designs, but ultimately focus on an easy distraction if Agent 47 can’t get his hands on a throwable item in the area.
Fiber Wire
An immensely powerful tool of the trade, the fiber wire is pretty simply a long wire that Agent 47 can use to choke out and thereby dispatch targets with. Agent 47 does not strictly use the Fiber Wire alone though and has applied substitutes to it across his series, such as earbuds, measuring tape, fishing line, a stethoscope, necklaces, a stethoscope, and a… resistance band. Really, anything that is long and flexible which 47 can hold onto doubles as a deadly tool for his missions.
Pistols
Agent 47 has a wide variety of different pistols he’s had access to across the series. These are usually his last resort for killing targets directly, as he very often uses them to shoot out parts of an environment (such as a chandelier or an electrical box) to stage deaths, but that doesn’t make them any less deadly in the hands of an assassin such as himself. This section does not factor weapons that Agent 47 can find during missions, as he cannot outright start with them and needs to pick them up off of enemies. Agent 47 has also dropped out the usage of various weapons, notably the .357 Magnum, so we won’t be accounting weapons he has lost usage of since the first game overall, and will strictly instead go off of weapons and tools he shows access to in the World of Assassination alone as that is effectively his "current standard arsenal".

Poisons
Agent 47 uses a variety of poisons and sedatives in his series, in addition to previously mentioned dart guns. These allow Agent 47 to take out a target without arousing suspicion to himself, such as poisoning food. He is stealthy enough with these poisons to be able to walk up to targets and prick them from behind without being noticed, but can also often use them as a takedown for when the time calls.
Lethal Syringes: Coming in both a Modern and Antique variation, these lethal syringes allow Agent 47 to administer doses of deadly poison that will instantly kill targets.
Emetic Syringes: Coming in both a Modern and Antique variant, these syringes will cause the target to seek out the nearest bathroom because they’ll want to vomit. Really badly, too.

Remote Explosive Duck: Agent 47’s preferred explosive of choice, this explosive comes in the form of a rubber duck that detonates via remote. Comes in a variety of different recolors, as well as the signature Mk. II look.
Proximity Explosive Duck: A rubber duck that detonates in proximity when placed down rather than needing to be remotely activated. Comes in a signature Mk. II look as well as being able to dress up as a detective.
Remote Concussion Duck: A rubber duck that detonates remotely with a concussion that stuns enemies. Can also come in a nice white suit.
Napoleon Blownaparte: While not a duck, this explosive is actually designed as a cartoony figure of Napoleon. It will play orchestral music when thrown and can be remotely detonated into a deadly explosive.
ICA Explosive Phone: A phone that, when called and answered, will explode. It is much louder than other audio distractions, making it potentially more useful than other audio distractions disregarding the explosion.
ICA Electrocution Phone: A phone that, when called and answered, will electrocute whoever holds it. While Agent 47 hasn’t used it in HITMAN III, it could still be under ICA possession.
ICA Flash Phone: A phone that, when called and answered, emits a blinding flash right in front of an enemy’s face. Ouch.
Nitroglycerine: A vial of a highly volatile substance that will explode in contact with any surface or if dropped.

Combat Knife: An assassin’s most typical weapon for a job, the combat knife is a stainless steel weapon perfect for any situation with lethal intent.
Amputation Knife: A knife used for amputating others, but is also pretty good for throwing due to the weight imbalance.

Ice Pick: A tool for breaking into ice that can be reused as a powerful melee weapon.
Baseball Bat: A powerful melee weapon especially good at whacking heads off.
A New Bat: A silly little baseball bat that Agent 47 can carry around inconspicuously in the Clown costume.
Spooky Bat: Little pig, little pig!
The Concrete Bat: A wooden baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire and with a bright purple color scheme.
The Purple Streak Baseball Bat: Directly from Twitch themselves, this is a bright purple bat certain to strike attention from anyone before you bash their head in.
HF Championship Bat: An aluminum bat great for knocking in heads.
Shuriken: Agent 47 is even a master at throwing shurikens! It could be used in melee, too, I guess.
Bat Shuriken: Hmm… I wonder where I’ve seen this before.
Club Boom 12” Vinyl Sampler: A vinyl that Agent 47 can throw at someone, executing them.
"Good Quark VOL. 3" VHS Tape: Who knew a video of birds could be such a good melee weapon?
Violin: A breakable melee weapon that can be used for certain speedrun tricks.
Claw Hammer: A blunt tool great for bashing in heads.
Banana: This… is a banana.
ICA Combat Axe: A powerful axe that can be used to split logs and heads.
Ice Axe: A sturdy axe for climbing that can be used equally to split heads.
Katana: An ancient blade that can cut down any target. It can also come with a white handle.
Masamune: A traditional ancient sword passed down between generations.
Saber: As you can tell, Agent 47 is really good at sword combat. It can come in a variety of versions, being one of the most prideful weapons to use.
Mace: An effective melee weapon for knocking out targets.
Crystal Ball: In your future, Agent 47 sees you getting hit by this and going unconscious.
Gold Bar: Boink. Really wonder how Agent 47 doesn’t kill someone with these.
Okinwan Tonfa: A traditional melee weapon made of wood that can beat down targets.
Police Baton: A traditional melee weapon owned by officers that is even more useful for physical combat due to a sturdier design.
Aiden Pearce
Vigilante Outfit
Aiden Pearce wears a long trenchcoat basically all the time, alongside a mask that can conceal half of his face. This is the most iconic outfit Aiden wears, and has appeared with it across the series. It’s resistant to water, and can be fit with both explosion resistance and bullet resistance with certain upgrade paths.
Optik
A modern phone that Aiden obtains in London, this device connects to one’s eye on the right temple to allow them a more conscious view of their surroundings. It can alter one’s perception, which can be useful granted it gives Aiden the means to visualize something as simple as a police chase … or allows others to disguise themselves through alteration of the Optik’s mechanics, which is what Aiden Pearce and many of the playable characters use to disguise themselves as invisible in fights. It stores all of your information from your Optik ID including your identity and health records, gives the option for you to even translate on-the-go into your language, among other helpful uses. While Aiden does use his smartphone, the Optik makes it so that every need from a phone can be replicated simply by processing information in your mind. Every iteration of Optik is equipped with Bagley, a highly powerful AI that was unlocked by DedSec in order to even further enhance its powers. More information on Bagley will be provided in the Support section, but is something that Aiden has access to all the time through DedSec and his Optik.
Baton
Aiden’s most iconic weapon and tool, the Baton is a close-quarters weapon designed to be able to take down almost target, exerting tons of force that can end up being lethal to an enemy. It is potent enough by the end of story to take down armored Enforcers in just a few hits, who wear what is essentially SWAT armor, so it’s obviously pretty powerful.
1911
A world-renowned handgun that Aiden uses to take down enemies, it packs a punch at close range and is one of Aiden’s most reliable pistols. Aiden can also equip this with a silencer for a more stealthy option.
Px4
A versatile and accurate handgun which is simply an all-rounder, not having any particular stand-out traits. It’s one of the handguns that Aiden outright uses in cutscenes, which makes sense with how consistent it is as a weapon.
P-9mm
A cheap and moderately weaker handgun which Aiden can use. Due to it being one of the cheapest guns, it’s best for saving money, but compensates with having some of the weakest damage of any gun that Aiden uses.
D50
The D50 is an iconic handgun with a long range that allows Aiden to take down targets at… well, a range. This acts as a reliable firearm with its consistency in taking down targets at this extended range which other handguns cannot match well.
M8-M
The M8-M is a great revolver for marksman with a sleek italian design, dealing consistent and heavy damage to any of Aiden’s enemies.
R-33
A special Russian designed handgun which shoots a burst of bullets at enemies, granted its automatic nature. It’s very inaccurate, unsurprisingly, but compensates with a well off damage rating, a very high round count, and spectacular fire rate. Aiden can use an alternatively more accurate version of this gun known as the R-33B.
MP-412
A special, moderately powerful handgun which Aiden can only find when you scan a special code for the Console version of WATCH_DOGS. Neat!
Chrome
The Chrome is a powerful three-round burst revolver that Aiden can use in a fight which deals a powerful punch, being able to penetrate armor. It is an upgrade to the M8-M.
Auto-6
A red, six-round burst revolver that Aiden wields which packs a powerful punch, acting as a direct upgrade to the Chrome and M8-M with its damage and vastly increased fire rate.
Gangster
A gold-dipped version of the M1 SMg, a powerful machine gun that is built like an old fashioned Mafia machine gun of the Prohibition era. It has a moderately high fire rate across a 50 round clip.
U100
A common light machine gun with a high fire rate across a 75 round magazine which are carried around by Enforcers. It deals high damage, and is inversely one of the strongest tools on their own for taking down the Enforcers in question when Aiden gets his hands on one.
MP-9mm
A machine pistol with a collapsible stock that Aiden uses, having a high stability making it one of Aiden’s most accurate machine guns despite lacking in other regards like overall damage.
OCP-11
A small high-calibur assault rifle with immense range and a great fire rate, despite its lack of accuracy and lesser damage. This makes it best at a closer range despite its range, as it is very inaccurate due to the high recoil it has behind it.
MP5
A fully-auto machine gun that works best in close encounters with Aiden, it’s a very precise machine gun with a high fire rate which makes it perform best against the aforementioned close encounters. However, it is much weaker against armored opponents.
R-2000
A Russian-designed submachine gun that excells in riot control and close combat. It is best for missions at close range, as it is efficient and agile without extra recoil. It is, however, not powerful against unarmored foes and will become much less reliable when burning through so much ammo.
SMG-11
A one-handed machine pistol with a strong rate of fire, although the recoil is rather potent. It can also be equipped with a suppressor for the stealthiest of missions.
Vector .45ACP
A powerful short-range submachine gun with a ton of recoil resistance, having such a high rate of fire that just pulling the trigger once can shoot two bullets at once. It can also be suppressed, making it a similarly powerful stealth too. However, it is not powerful against armored targets due to its ammunition type.
U100
A fully-auto light machine gun that has a high rate of fire, giving it a powerful role in Aiden’s arsenal. It is a rather powerful weapon that can be used especially against taking out enforcers, due to its consistent damage and fire rate.
ATSG-12
A fully automatic stainless-steel shotgun with a high rate of fire and tremendous damage, making it a powerful room-clearing weapon.
D12
A small, concealable shotgun that makes it a great option for stealth. Due to its lack of range, it works best at a short range combat and deals heavy damage at such ranges.
M1014
A semi-automatic shotgun with a high rate of damage built especially for close-quarter combat. While this military-grade weapon is particularly strong at close-quarter combat, it can work across a variety of ranges.
SG-90
A classic pump-action shotgun that can break through any enemy in front of Aiden, although it is horrible at any other range.
Piledriver
An even more powerful SG-90, this burst shotgun inflicts even more damage and shoots in a 3-round burst. This weapon is strong enough to be able to clear any of the highest-level enemies, such as the powerful enforcers.
SGR-12
A Russian-built semi-auto shotgun, maintaining a rather high fire rate and damage at the cost of immense recoil. Ultimately, it works best at a close range due to this recoil and barrel length.
416
A German assault rifle best for ranged fights, which has a high rate of fire that makes up for the rather low damage in turn. Due to the lack of bullet penetration and recoil, it becomes unsuitable on armored targets but does work rather well with weaker targets.
Wildfire
A heavily-modified 416 with an immensely-increased rate of fire, although retaining very similar statistics to the rifle otherwise.
417
An assault rifle with a higher calibre than the 416, resulting in greater damage and a similar fire rate. As a result, it has a smaller magazine size, and only shoots in a 3-round burst.
ACR
The latest in American technology, the ACR has unmatched power to any other assault rifle and holds high armor penetration. This strength comes at the cost of a low fire rate, however.
Biometric Rifle
An iteration of the ACR in camo now equipped with a biometric scanner that prevents anyone but Aiden from using it, with it now having a greater rate of fire than the ACR.
AK-47
Your good ol’ reliable, this weapon is great for medium-range encounters and grants a rather high armor protection.
Goblin
A brutally efficient assault rifle with a large capacity of ammo and extensive range, although the burst-fire makes it unreliable for longer range combat. It can also be equipped with a suppressor for more stealthy maneuevers.
AC-AR
A powerful sniper rifle modified from a three-round burst assault rifle. It is a versatile weapon that can be used in the same grounds as other assault rifles but can otherwise be wielded at greater ranges with standard penetration damage.
M107
A sleek and highly powerful .50 calibre sniper rifle that can rip through practically any material, and offers the greatest range of any weapon in Aiden’s kit. These rounds can ensure the means to one-shot targets, as well as being able to across any range due to its immensely high accuracy.
The Destroyer
A modified M107, this anti-material rifle has the power to one-shot any enforcer or vehicle. Fit with twice the damage as the M107, it has the highest penetration of any weapon and can shoot through nearly a foot of concrete.
SR-25
A modular semi-automatic sniper rifle with powerful recoil, but a very high damage per round fit with extremely high accuracy in turn.
SVD
A lightweight Russian sniper rifle that offers average penetration and high damage across ranges, ensuring the means to end fights immediately within that distance.
G106
A hefty single-shot grenade launcher that detonate on impact. It is most ideal for destroying grouped-up targets due to its high damage, despite its lack of a high rate of fire.
GL-94
A powerful pump-action grenade launcher that works best at a short range, and can hold up to four grenades at once.
Frag Grenade
Kablooey! Aiden can throw out frag grenades that detonate after a set fuse time once the pin is pulled, which launches shrapnel in an area.
Lure
A small noise device which can be used to lure unsuspecting enemies to distract and draw them in. Simple enough.
Improvised Explosive Device
An explosive crafted from Aiden’s bare hands, they can be thrown or placed down in order to set up a trap. By hacking it, which can be done at a distance or remotely when hacking through devices, it creates a devastating explosion. Aiden is able to improve this with the Proximity IED, which can detonate based on close contact rather than needing to be hacked.
Blackout Gadget
A gadget designed to jam the communication of enemies. Pretty simple. It can be used to prevent signals, such as phone service or police tracking, can disable opposing hacks or encryptions, pause access even when being hacked, and can primarily be used to disable reinforcements so that lone enemies can be taken out without needing to take on more combatants.
Blackout Gadget
A powerful gadget that Aiden can use in a pinch if he can’t perform this with his phone, the Blackout device allows Aiden to completely shut down every light and presumably every power source in city, granting him the ability to land a beat down on opponents or just create chaotic opportunities for a getaway.
ctOS Scan
A powerful ctOS scan that allows Aiden to scan all nearby enemies, allowing him to detect their ranks and identities, as well as highlighting them through walls. This grants Aiden the ability to search all nearby citizens, and uses a special facial recognition system in the same vain as the police. However, while the police maintain a weakness of being jammed that can prevent them from using this technology as well as taking a set time to activate that allows targets to leave the area, Aiden lacks such weakness in his usage of the technology, allowing him to instantly scan the surrounding area without being jammed.
LΞGION Weapons
In WATCH_DOGS LΞGION, Aiden’s Arsenal grants him the ability to use any combination of weapons accessible in the game by who he recruits. The general gist without specific recruitment options includes a variety of weapons that he can always access in his kit.
LTL (Less Than Lethal) Weapons: Unique to this game, LTL weapons are non-lethal weapons that can be used to take down targets.

Desert Eagle: A semi-automatic pistol that Aidan can use in combat which deals high damage.
REX 357: A semi-automatic revolver that can deliver powerful blows, although coming at the cost of a very slow reload time.
REX 357 & AP-GL: Aiden can dual-wield the REX 357 and the AP-GL.
G36: A fully-automatic 30-round magazine rifle with a high damage output with low recoil. It is highly preferred by the Albion company in combat.
Desert Eagle & G36: Aiden can dual-wield the G36 and Desert Eagle.

NEGEV: A full-auto light machine gun with high statistics and ammo capacity, although at the cost of a slow reload time.
M249: A full-auto light machine gun with a high fire rate and all-rounded stats, although at the cost of a slow reload time and worse-off handling.
M590: A five-round shotgun with a moderately high damage, great for picking off targets.
Gl-06: A powerful grenade launcher which deals a high amount of damage at the trade-off of a very low reload time and clip size.
AP-GL: A powerful single-shot grenade launcher which can be used freely one-handed.
Paintball Gun: A single-shot gun that shoots out paint balls which can disorient enemies and incapacitate them.
Nail Gun: OUCH. It shoots nails. There’s not much more to it.
Tear Gas: Don’t want to get that in your eyes… Irritates your eyes and makes it horrible to fight in.
Smoke Grenade: Bombs away! This grenade pops out with a bunch of smoke, great for concealing oneself.
Paint Bomb: Surely that will be good in a fight!
Besides these weapons, Aiden can also innately wield a variety of gadgets from the game which offer him various potential abilities.
Infiltrator Spider-Bot: A small miniature RC robot that can sneak through defenses to look into enemy bases and bestow intel. It can even take down targets for Aiden! It can be upgraded to have a double jump and cloaking abilities.
Combat Spider-Bot: A combative spider-bot built for missions of combat which can fight alongside Aiden armed with a powerful turret. It can be upgraded to become more potent or be controlled manually when giving supporting fire.
AR Cloak: A cloak of invisibility! It disguises Aiden in order to become invisible for a short time, which can be upgraded for longer rates of invisibility when sneaking and gives Aiden the ability to perform greater ranges of takedowns while invisible.
Electro-Shock Mine: A mine which detonates to shock enemies. It can be tossed or stuck to surfaces in order to activate when an enemy comes close, dealing devastating damage and incapacitating them. It can be upgraded to wield an EMP in its explosive, which can jam enemy weapons.
Electro-Fist: A brass-knuckles style of weapon which can instantly knock out enemies by hitting them with a single blow, shocking them to being unconscious. It can be upgraded to immediately arc towards nearby enemies with powerful blows, and emit a disorientating shockwave.
Missile Drone: A powerful drone that can be controlled by Aiden. It can be upgraded to launch out more missiles and home in on enemies with all of their missiles.
Support
Agent 47
Diana Burnwood
Diana has been Agent 47’s operative since his beginnings at the Agency, first meeting him when both were in their youth and Diana was a rooke in the ICA. She’s armed with sharp wits and a strong sense of justice in upholding the system, hence why she ties herself to the Agency, and by extension works with Agent 47. While Agent 47 had been sent after her as a target, she escaped the confrontation with an intentional non-lethal shot, leading to her taking up solitude in a mansion after Hitman: Absolution.
She primarily works in the shadows for Agent 47, offering intel. However, Diana isn’t restricted to just operating remotely, and in regards to direct conflicts, has a wide array of sources to pull from. Diana holds her own personal onslaught of vehicles she and ICA agents can pull from for a mission all contained within the Jean Danjou, a 300-or-so foot long yacht fit with officers of the ICA, tech support, and state-of-the-art communication systems for managing cases as well as cross-planetary satellites for surveillance fitted with thermal imaging that can see through buildings as to support 47 in fieldwork. These satellites granted Diana the ability to support Agent 47 in a night time sniper duel against a rival agent, as his wits alongside Diana’s intel allowed him to piece apart the other combatant’s style. She usually reaches out to 47 through this yacht, but has also shown appearances in-person to accompany him on occasion. It is ultimately unknown if she still retained access to the Jean Danjou after the events of Enemy Within, given it was taken under the ICA after her “death” in Absolution.
After the ICA fell apart, Diana and Agent 47 fell back in arms under the new leaders of the Agency. However, due to plots intertwined with Providence and the ICA’s hits, they had worked together and soon became independent from the Agency. Both Diana and Agent 47 have disassociated themselves from any corporation or governing body– becoming freelancers by the end of the game. While Diana is willing to picture herself as betraying Agent 47 for the sake of the greater good, she above all else remains loyal to the assassin due to the bond they share and the trust they’ve built.
Aiden Pearce
Bagley
Bagley was a powerful AI created by the founder of Broca Tech, Skye Larson, with the intention to create effectively a being solely dedicated to opposing forces against their monopoly. However, DedSec copied over the code of Bagley, who became a force against London’s big tech corporations as a favor for “freeing” him. He acts as the leader of DedSec alongside Sabine (and thereafter its leader once she is defeated), since Bagley was recreated from a remaining copy after the London servers were shut down due to Sabine turning them rogue.
Bagley is able to assist Aiden Pearce in various ways. He can give information about taking down an enemy, construct environment replications off of accessed data, and create a massive EMP blast by overloading servers he can control. He is also able to support extents of hacking in Aiden’s control, as well as give him mission information and pinpoint targets he needs to find/take down. Due to his connection with ctOS in general, it gives him the means to find information on any records within the system, which is as a whole on a global-wide scale of information. He is also able to send himself to other systems, which is how he survives in the end of the game since he was present in another drone.
Resistances
Agent 47
Empathic Manipulation: Unlike any other clone, Agent 47 was the only one who was unaffected by his emotions being removed via a dosage that would make him feel “nothing” by targeting emotions at their core; the amygdala, said dosage leading other clones to become entirely depressive and unable to function performing basic tasks like eating or drinking. This has led to 47 losing all emotion regarding kills, and then reserved himself solely to his instinct to kill. This can be mostly seen when Agent 47 describes himself, often willingly avoiding indulging in himself with treats because he views work as his only indulgence, and recognizes the “ghosts of his past” but is unbothered by the feelings, drowning out feelings like guilt when he reflects on his actions such as in Absolution when “killing” Diana. Despite his sociopathic mentality by definition, Agent 47 has broken away from emotional numbness, however has shown the ability to bury his emotions and entirely ignore them. This can be seen best in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, where he displayed inherent regret for every life he took and every sin he committed. However, upon how much killing he’d been pushed to do by the ICA in order to save his friend, he had to willingly give it up and went back to becoming a hardened emotionless killer who defined himself as just a weapon. He could overpower a fear-inducing toxin with a hallucination of his brother once the muscle-disabling serum was out of his system.
Drugs: Agent 47 is able to overcome addictions, being able to overcome the aforementioned drug that broke his emotions or the fear-inducing toxin in his system once he wasn’t incapacitated.
Aiden Pearce
Technology Interference: Bagley, and by extension the cast of legion, don’t have their tech disabled by the EMP blast Bagley created. Bagley could come back from it directly, while the playable character is able to effectively ignore the blast despite the radius of it affecting all drones in the area and destroying the server at the epicenter. He is also unaffected by black-outs, although it’s unlikely these ctOS attacks would directly target Aiden himself.
Bullet Damage: Via Bullet Resistance which decreases bullet damage.
Explosions: Via Blast Resistance which decreases explosive damage.
Weaknesses
Agent 47
While Agent 47 is a superhuman and the greatest assassin, he isn’t entirely infallible. Despite having a 100% success rate in his missions, he has been deceived before, such as in the case of Diana herself across the series (such as Absolution or in the World of Assassination) or with Sergei across the entire story of Silent Assassin. In addition to this, Agent 47 is still ultimately a human being that requires sustenance– and while his near-immortality might fool you into thinking he might be young forever, other clones have shown that age can indeed catch up to Agent 47 if he isn’t careful (although he was quite directly been sourced by other clones for his youth). This can be further pressed as Agent 47 still maintains human weaknesses, such as his inability to withstand electric shocks that can leave him incapacitated for some time or being vulnerable to certain drugs such as tranquilizers. Regarding combat itself, though, Agent 47 also runs into a few pitfalls– namely, Agent 47’s instinct isn’t usually immediately accessible in combat. While point-shooting and his precognition are powerful tools that can be used amidst a fight, Agent 47 (at least in regards to gameplay) can’t necessarily focus on you between walls and shoot you through them at the same time. Plus, within the same grounds of “gameplay”, Agent 47 might run across in a prolonged fight is a limited meter for his Instinct– although this is far more than likely a balancing restriction given it’s routed from his skill.
Aiden Pearce
One of Aiden’s greatest weaknesses, as seen with others, is his humanity. A big leverage in his story is how much he does truly care for people, and will push him on the edge to bring any means of vengeance in a situation. This is obviously most seen with him pushing so much against Blume while trying to find the killer of his niece, but has also been shown with losing his closest allies, too. He is a powerful fighter and can push himself into extensive bouts of combat, even when physically weak, but retains a ton of weaknesses for his kit that can be weakened if he pushes himself too much. Focus, while a powerful tool in combat, can be pushed to its limit to the point that it will become unusable if Aidan doesn’t have the means to recharge it. In the same regard, his hacking and various distractions require charges, meaning that he might run out of energy in his phone for larger scale hacks. With this technology reliance, he has to play more into his quick wits if he doesn’t have the means to gain access to an area’s operating system, although this hasn’t particularlyw stunted him in combat before. At his core, though, Aiden is still a human with his fair share of weaknesses like exhaustion despite being able to push through any situation with his indomitable willpower.
Miscellaneous
A special section for both that covers everything they get within a preparation or environmentally-focused setting through their variety of equipment and mastery of their areas. Within this context, we’d assume both would be getting full equipment, naturally granting 47 his hidden preparation areas within an assumed area and placing 47 within the bounds of Chicago, as this would be where Aiden is located and simply is the only setting that would make sense for 47 to encounter Aiden. This means both will get the full extent of their arsenals without limiting either, and allows for 47 to take advantage of his greatest strength in stealth, preparation in disguises, and the vice-versa for Aiden Pearce in his ctOS control and influence over Chicago’s infrastructure. This is moreso cut from the other parts of their arsenals as these often require a set-up and/or part of the environment to access, or otherwise aren’t something they’d carry around at all times.
Agent 47
Preparation
One of the most important parts of 47’s mission is his preparation and access to resources. Primarily, 47 often holds the best control over an assassination attempt by scouting out locations, and understanding where or when to strike. He can very often disguise himself very easily into high-profile areas before he’s given the chance to start a mission, or can equip himself with a variety of different weapons within any given mission. Preparation isn’t just a mechanic of his missions in gameplay, either, as 47 very extensively prepares himself in regards to disguises and gathering weapons. This can be seen within novels such as Enemy Within where 47 gathers up weapons by purchasing them at an armory and then sets up a disguise from scratch by gathering clothes from his trip, where preparation played a key role in finding Ali bin Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Fulani. Within the same novel, Agent 47 displays extensive preparation for missions like taking jobs at hotels as a dishwasher so that he could work close to his target’s employees and learn his weaknesses.
On that topic…
Smuggled Items
Through his influence with the ICA, Agent 47 can start out a mission with smuggled items, allowing the agency to place non-discriminate items in a given area that 47 can access. While 47’s limit seems to only be once a mission, with his influence and the vast influence of his target in this situation, it’s very likely he’d be able to plan out smuggling packages from the ICA across the various areas of Chicago.
Vehicles
Used as a constant getaway (or get in!) vehicle, 47 always has an escape route in every mission either on his own accord or through the ICA’s planning. This includes a variety of different rides such as…
Car: A small white car resembling a Volkswagen Beetle that appears in World of Tomorrow which 47 can sometimes use to run over NPCs in the way of his exit, and was implied to have used to get to the destination in the first place.
Mercury Eight: A stolen car from Edward Wade which 47 primarily uses as his means of transportation. It was planned on being the main storage for 47’s weapons and ultimately does maintain this role– albeit slightly decreased– so it can likely act as a hub for 47’s equipment.
Mercedes-Benz W126: 47’s new common vehicle which he drives to and from missions in Freelancer, resembling a car stolen from Consulate Staff in one of 47’s earlier missions or one stolen from Yates in The Farewell. Maybe he keeps all the cars he steals after a mission…?
Speedboat: A small boat that 47 rides into Nightcall which he can take out of a level. He is also shown to have access to a similar speedboat in Last Resort,
Motorcycle: A cool bike which 47 rides to and from A Death in the Family.
Helicopter: An ICA helicopter that appears in 47’s training which he can ride. With his access to ICA technology in general, having a helicopter set up prior to a mission would likely grant 47 the ability to use it. Alternatively, using flares allows 47 to call down helicopters– although it’s unknown if this is the ICA’s own.
47 is also able to nab various vehicles through several different means depending on the situation. While it’s unlikely he’d have access to all of them at once, it should be notable that 47 can drive any vehicle he can come across which are usually accessible with a set of keys available or could be easily stolen.
Safehouse
A secret building that 47 resides in after his ICA conflict alongside his resolve to work, being a large house with several special rooms such as vaults or 47’s office. From here, 47 is able to obtain a multitude of special items that he can bring to missions. Credit to the Hitman wiki for this source.
Bag of Gunpowder: A bag of gunpowder that can be used as a blunt weapon or explosive.
Banana: A banana which 47 can use to set up a banana peel… to make enemies slip and fall.
Baseball: Surely as a clone of the greatest assassins, 47 is a great pitcher.
Car Battery: A car battery with a small charge that allows it to set flammable liquids and objects on fire, and electrocutes enemies in water.
Poisonous Mushroom: A mushroom which 47 can find that can poison enemies when ingested or otherwise be turned into a syringe poison, making them nauseous and sick.
Fire Poker: 47’s personal fire poker… pretty cool…
Fish: Yummers. 47 can use this fish as a melee weapon or extract a sedating poison from it.
Fishing Line: A powerful line for fishing that 47 can use as a substitute for a garrote wire.
Fuse Cell: A large 500 volt fuse that can simply be connected to 47’s fuse box… or can be crafted into a deadly explosive. Choose wisely.
Grape Knife: A knife used to cut down grapes which 47 can use as a deadly melee tool.
Hammer: A hammer… you guys know what that is, right?
Kettlebell: A heavy weight which 47 can knock enemies unconscious with by bashing in their heads.
Letter Opener: Effectively just a knife. But it can open letters too!
Makeshift Explosive: A fusion of the Bag of Gunpowder with 47’s Fuse Cell, creating a deadly explosive.
Newspaper: A rolled up newspaper that 47 can use to club enemies with.
Red Wine Bottle: Surely not cheap, but 47 can still shatter it over the heads of an enemy.
Rusty Old Nail: 47 can use this to pick locks. Could also be used to stab someone, I guess.
Seashell: It’s like a unicorn horn! 47 can jam these into the heads of enemies in order to kill them, and throw them with enough force to penetrate an enemy’s skull.
Soap: Don’t drop it.
Soda Can: A soda can that 47 can throw at people, knocking them unconscious.
Starfish: A rare item that 47 can find when fishing, acting as a powerful and sharp projectile which 47 can lodge into an enemy’s skull at a distance.
Stethoscope: Doctors use these… I think. A substitute for the Garrote Wire.
Wrench: A tool which 47 can use to disable certain devices, or just bash someone’s head in with.
From the safehouse, 47 can also wield special suits and weapons that act as reskins of other weapons in his kit, such as a golden-plated katana, or a golden-plated pistol. 47 can plan out his missions from this safehouse with a map of the entire world where he can read into intel or the location of a target, his entire armory of tools and weapons, and a shooting range for practice.
Aiden Pearce
Hacking
Aiden’s main ability is the usage of Hacking through the ctOS system that expands across nearly all forms of technology in Chicago, where he can control the environment within the Chicago area like bridges, the traffic, city cameras that he uses to scout out areas, the system of trains for quick-getaways, or use more miscellaneous hacking abilities such as electronic jamming or detecting all nearby crime through ctOS’ facial recognition system. Through the usage of the ctOS system or just wielding his phone, he can identify anyone in the database by hacking them or trace phone calls to find someone’s identity, and listen into conversations they’re having. He can even detect more direct characteristics, such as an enemy’s hostility level or their awareness levels, or he can detect if someone is trying to hack around him, including Damien and other fixers. He holds full control over ctOS, being able to alter data and code, hack into nearly any record or technology connected to the city, and can go as far as erasing his records entirely from the database of governing officials, or disabling the entirety of the city with his control over this system in DedSec’s conflict… Or just whenever he feels like it. Aiden doesn’t just hold control over ctOS, as he was also able to hack Caleb Quinn’s pacemaker and entirely shut it off despite pacemakers working automatically without requiring ctOS interference or how he can hack devices that are entirely off the grid in an area without ctOS access. He can non-discriminantly hack, too, a tactic he’s very well known for when hiding his phone out of view in order to pull off
General Abilities
Hackers in WATCH_DOGS can search and discover the identities of others through the government system of ctOS, granting information to be known such as their mood, occupation, age, sexuality, gender, etcetera. However, hackers can also mask themselves in cameras and cover their face so no one can discover their identity through ctOS, which Aiden performed in his data erasure that made him unrecognizable to the city of Chicago without information from citizens due to his immunity to their facial pattern recognition.
Aiden is able to dig deeper, being able to find out connections to crimes, and passively flags those who are relevant to his mission through their identity. He can also search across the entire city for the location of someone, the potential of someone committing a crime, the potential of someone attacking him, listen into conversations or radio chatter, etc.
Aiden can gather information about a target or citizen in order to further control them… or steal from their ATM. What a bum.
Aiden is able to detect a target’s resistances, their outfit, weapons on-hand, snd their arsenal, even if the weapons or gadgets are hidden. He can also detect innate weaknesses, strengths, and disabilities, allowing him to make on-demand tactics in adaptation to enemies.
Hackers in WATCH_DOGS can control cars and completely disable them to be under their control, with Aiden having the ability to passively unlock cars and disable alarms.
Hackers in the WATCH_DOGS series are able to casually cause mass blackouts due to their control over the system, with Aiden being one the greatest examples of such a maneuver.
Hackers in WATCH_DOGS, while having an inherent limited range, can extend this through being able to “joint hack”, travelling through devices such as cameras with their controllers which allows them to hack specific objects at a much greater distance than they would be able to around themselves. T-Bone showed usage of this when he was able to hack into another phone outside of the room he was contained in so that he could shut off poisonous gas being shot into the room. Even though Aiden can’t reach it directly, he could hack into the Loop servers just through access of any minor technology present in the building.
WATCH_DOGS 2 displays an entire route of hacking skills that Aiden has a comparable enough prowess in ctOS manipulation to scale, which allows one to move vehicles through control, hijack them sneakily without arousing suspicion or control them remotely, force helicopters and officers to retreat from an area, override and amplify an engine to speed up vehicles, hack cars in an area around themselves, perform maneuvers such as the communication disruption which cancels 911 calls, hack information to pinpoint crimes on targets, crash the enitre city’s technology, etcetera. Granted abilities like these are additionally present in LΞGION, which Aiden can wield, he should have the same overall capacity of control over ctOS.
Vehicles
Thanks to the app, Car on Demand, Aiden Pearce can access practically any vehicle he has unlocked. There’s a lot of them, so we won’t bring up a list, but he has shown a wide variety of different vehicles he can skillfully drive. This wide variety ranges from your standard muscle and sports cars, and then motorcycles to trucks, all the way up to helicopters and limos.

Scaling
Agent 47
Targets
… and so little relevant feats.
Pablo Ochoa is programmed to be able to survive gunshots in order to taunt Agent 47, including when Agent 47 guns him down with a minigun that he can shrug off multiple times… mainly due to being high on crack.
His genetic uncle Sergei was able to bust through wooden boards with a casual tackle (767.496 Kilojoules)
Masahiro Mayamoto’s ninjas can dodge gunfire if they’re able to see Agent 47 aiming at them (Inapplicable, see Before the Verdict)
Connor McGregor can punch with his left at 932 pounds of force (4.14 Kilojoules / meter)
Victoria and the Agency
In Hitman: Absolution, Victoria is rather close to Agent 47 due to their similar births– granted, they’re test-tube babies. While Victoria could seen as potentially physically comparable, as she was stated to be exceedingly greater in tests than Sanchez (another superhuman Agent 47 has taken on), her youth makes that very unlikely to be the case. It’s much more likely that Agent 47 is much stronger than her, even with her isotope which bestows her this physical power.
Overpowers several soldiers and a surgeon in hand-to-hand combat.
Took down multiple soldiers in a quick bout before they could pull their triggers on her.
In addition, 47 should be comparable to members of the Agency and those they have worked with granted he is the top member and has taken down its strongest allies on his own within the grounds of Absolution. This section also generally marks off miscellaneous parties, as well, that wouldn’t fall under the previous two categories.
Explosives that Agent 47 used on an Agency site were able to blow up a massive door (40.1 Megajoules to 1.18 Tons of TNT)
Although Agent 47 does not use these exact explosives himself, he wields ICA-grade explosives that should be ultimately comparable down the line in his series.
Lucas Grey could casually overpower a trained soldier and disarm him.
Aiden Pearce
DedSec
Aidan and T-Bone are pretty physically comparable, granted they outright have fought before, so the idea that they’re physically comparable is pretty solid. In addition, Aiden is shown to be generally physically comparable to Wrench even in speed, at one point being able to physically overwhelm him with his baton. While Marcus and Aiden also haven’t outright interacted in a hostile manner, Aiden has been shown to be comparable to those in turn physically comparable to Marcus, such as Jordi. As a playable character in Bloodline and by extension an operator in LΞGION, he should very simply scale to everything present in that game (although this was mentioned prior in the statistics section).
The Shuffler outfit gives Marcus the option to crush people into a ball and break all of their bones, killing them on the spot (583.4 Kilojoules: Inapplicable, See Before the Verdict)
T-Bone could take out a duo of officers before one could pull their trigger.
He can withstand headshots from sniper rifles.
Wrench’s explosions could bust through a concrete wall.
Goda & Stainless Steel Bat
Coda and SSB are members of the section of DedSec located in Japan, partnered up with the American DedSec despite the regional difference. While Aiden does not necessarily play a role in the manga, we do know that it is canon granted Wrench’s connections to DedSec Tokyo and has been connected furthermore with LΞGION (in tandem with Wrench’s DLC), so these “regular members of DedSec” are possibly physically comparable to Aiden and the rest of the cast due to their similar grounds narratively.
Goda was able to block a baton before it could hit him in the face.
Goda uses a bicycle to block two taser shots, which hit around 205 feet per second in speed.
SSB hits two guards with a taser before they and the others can react.
SSB narrowly dodges gunfire when rolling.
SSB was able to dodge the explosion of a drone at point-blank, which functions similar to a gunshot with its shrapnel.
Series Antagonists
Granted Aiden scales to characters across the series, he should scale to the general capabilities of antagonists present in later installments like WATCH DOGS 2. Granted his direct appearance in LΞGION as an Operative, he displays scaling to the enemies present within that game as well.
Jordi survived falling off of the lighthouse after Aiden pushes him through it, as evident with the post-credits scene and then his appearance in WATCH_DOGS 2 (9.8 Kilojoules: Debatable, See Before the Verdict)
Jordi can physically wrestle with Marcus, and sling him over his shoulder.
Jordi just sort of… really beats everything out of Anton, disarming him as he shoots his gun and thereafter snapping his neck when Marcus completes his download.
Nigel could withstand the destruction of his Prototype and the subsequent explosion
Aiden can physically beat down on Nigel with his baton to overpower him, and Nigel’s armor itself allows him to withstand gunshots being pumped into him without too much damage.
Sabine might have survived her fall. Trust me.
Before The Verdict
Relativistic Hitmen
So, there’s a feat with a bit of discussion that we decided to ultimately leave out in the final stats. However, it definitely still deserves coverage.
In Hitman: Sniper, a Halloween update came out which introduced the Exorcist, a crossbow weapon that shoots out bolts which resemble lasers. There have been a few claims that these are lasers, but granted they explicitly show force and are regarded as bolts, it’s very unlikely they’re actually lasers. On a similar note, granted the display of a biohazard symbol involved with its powerset, it’s unlikely there’s anything going on here that could be looked at as any less than fantasy magic… considering it also just possesses people, too. There’s not much to talk about here as it’s the only feat of this variety, however there’s a much bigger issue here.
Is Hitman: Sniper even canon?
Unfortunately, it likely is not. While Hitman as a whole has obviously had its gag of easter eggs, and really funny parts of the series, there has never been parts of the series akin to a crossbow that can possess people or just generally taking on all of his targets in a penthouse. A bigger problem is that the game simply doesn’t fit into the Hitman timeline currently, as not only was it produced from a branch of Square Enix with merely three original employees who worked on Absolution, but the next game also just generally leaves no clue to when it takes place in-universe. Granted it takes place during some point in time where Diana Burnwood worked with the ICA while Agent 47 was missing, it means that the game had to have taken place before Silent Assassin. However, a big problem with this assumption is that Stone and Knight’s relationship with the ICA was also present in HITMAN 2– and very evidently separate from the previous agents. While it wouldn’t be weird to assume that these agents might have still been within the ICA around this time, this locks down that the timeframe has to take place before Absolution. This means that Knight and Stone effectively went through twenty years after being hired by Diana if this timeline rings true, but look exactly the same. There is nowhere in the timeline that would make sense for Diana to be working with the ICA during Agent 47’s retirement that isn’t before Absolution, as Agent 47 was an active agent during every installment prior except for after Codename 47 where he retires. Simply put, this game can’t fit in the timeline if you do accept that Stone and Knight are canon within Hitman 2’s Sniper Mission, which is their first connection with the ICA verbatim before any recruitment. Even if you were to consider the fact that Absolution was potentially retconned, there is no timeframe in Hitman 2 where Agent 47 was under a disappearance at the same time as Diana would be working in the ICA or otherwise working against them with Agent 47.
Overall, due to the context we get of Stone and Knight’s background in the agency through Hitman 2’s multiplayer mode, there is no sensical point in the timeline where the Hitman: Sniper games could have happened. Even when overlooking the fantasy aspects and the company’s innerworkings with Square Enix Seattle, there is only one point in the timeline where we can logically place Hitman Sniper: The Shadows at. However, because that point in time would predate HITMAN 2 where Knight and Stone specifically have no record with the ICA, there’s no way this could make sense in a timeline of events. Even if there was somehow a point between the middle of HITMAN 2 and 3 where Agent 47 disappears at the same time Diana remains working with the ICA, it is impossible for her to have had time to find and deploy secret agents independently to keep working on targets when the ICA had vast in-fighting to deal with. Even had this point in time existed, it is fairly well established in Hitman 2 and 3 that Agent 47 constantly kept up with the work overtime, meaning that there simply can’t be a disappearance of him in the middle of the story that could have lasted long enough for the ICA to find and dispatch new agents to take on targets with Diana’s help. It could fit normally, but the detail that Diana was sought after to help despite working so closely with Agent 47 throughout the entire World of Assassination is the final nail in the coffin to this question. Hitman: Sniper and Hitman Sniper: The Shadows are non-canon, so feats and abilities from those games were not considered in this blog.
Assassin’s Creed Cross-Scaling
While the head of AC’s development has mentioned once on twitter that this isn’t a shared universe, the inclusion of Clary Clarkson does shed some light on potential arguments to be made for WATCH_DOGS and their scaling. There is a lot of arguments to be made regarding the acceptability of this, granted many of the “easter eggs” are explicitly intertwined narratively between both series, but we’ve decided not to go with this outright.
However, there are some arguments to be made, as the inclusion of said character would at least imply some potential comparisons to Jacob Frye and co. This would get Aiden in a similar ballpark to stuff like bullet dodging and scaling to human vaporization, which might not even be inconsistent if you buy into certain scaling for Assassin’s Creed (and in particular Jacob himself). So, it isn’t entirely nonsensical to claim they’re comparable either, as while the shared universes part might not be true, it’s pretty evident that elements of one universe or the other are certainly comparable to one another.
However, on the other hand, we have reasons for not applying it in this blog. The main issue is that crossover scaling is really lame to come down to in verdicts and this isn’t an Assassin’s Creed blog. The other part is that these feats aren’t direct at all, so applying them is a bit questionable at best, and there are simply not enough functional high-ends for Aiden to where we can apply them 100%. To put it simply, arguments that come down to “they are in the same verse and one isn’t shown to be stronger/is portrayed as a human” just aren’t easy to argue for when there aren’t enough corroborating feats for one party, hence why we aren’t including it here beyond cross scaling just being unfun.

Agent 47: Super Vision or Super Fraud?
Simply put, yes, Agent 47’s Instinct Mode is a canon thing. It is extensively referenced as Agent 47’s skill and mental prowess that gives him the means to actually understand an enemy and see their position, as odd as it might be. It is basically an innate superpower of Agent 47’s that expands how well he can take missions, and its whole appearance in gameplay is meant to mimic how he sees a mission. We have also explicitly seen Instinct present in comics with Agent 47 being able to see where guards are in a building and used said information to infiltrate them, so it is evidently more than just a gameplay mechanic.
Mind that while elusive targets exist and could be argued to show that 47’s instincts “could be fooled”, contextually these are intended to be the best of the best in stealth that are able to hide their identity from the world and/or have barren records because they constantly shift identities, or other similar reasons. Granted that these are one-off side missions where the player is intentionally given less information such as a lack of a HUD (mini-map) or the usage of the mechanical Instinct mode, these should not be treated as total anti-feats towards 47’s usage of Instinct Mode when they inherently disable most game mechanics that are helpful to the player, including Instinct Mode in itself. Even so, a lot of aspects of these modes where we can assume the reason behind them being elusive is contradicted by the actual main missions, such as in Freedom Fighters. The targets in this mission, primarily Olivia Hall, run state of the art encryption that prevents her from being found out by governing figures and promotes her hacktivism, yet Diana and the ICA were able to track them down.
Granted that there are exclusive elusive target missions that literally include Conor McGregor for example, these missions more than likely come down to a fun experience for the player rather than a limiting mission for Agent 47, and would only be thematically appropriate for each mission with a target that requires high skill ceilings to defeat for them to have people who often lack identities or constantly hide from the world, despite the fact of there being similar targets that 47 canonically does not struggle against. It is simply very unlikely that these enemies actually are a difficulty for Agent 47 because they bypass his abilities, but rather this is because the player is given less of Agent 47’s natural kit as a part of the difficulty level instead. As stated in Absolution and is the intention with higher difficulty levels, IO Interactive outright prefers missions to be more fun to players regardless of a narrative disconnect particularly so that players can “attempt to match” Agent 47’s skills, so these would simply follow along with that idea of a mission being more fun than being hard-enforced to follow the narrative of the story. Even if these targets were able to fool Agent 47’s senses rather than being undetectable as a game mechanic, Agent 47 isn’t necessarily unable to find targets granted Diana gives him communications with infra-red satellites to help him in tactical situations.
Slowing Down Time
A feat that both characters have rather notably is their perception slowing abilities that are used in the series. In Hitman: Absolution, Instinct mode gives the ability to “point-shoot”, slowing down time and giving Agent 47 the ability to perceive and set up a line of shots against enemies. Comparatively, Aiden’s Focus (an ability that appears in the first game and subsequently one of his major abilities in Bloodline) allows him to slow time so he has an easier time aiming. Both of these abilities slow down everything, increasing their reaction time to pull off shots before an enemy can without necessarily boosting their combat speed. These feats are mentioned in speed, but are specifically applied to their reactions rather than them being able to punch one another at Mach speeds.
Both abilities perform effectively the same sorts of feats, so the validity between values should be comparable either way. There is no necessarily better end between their lowest single Mach ends and higher quadruple Mach ends, and neither outright takes precedence over one another. Functionally, both do work a bit differently in how they can be used, but those are factors that will be discussed in the verdict.
WATCH_DOGS AP Feats
Jordi Fell
In the final mission of WATCH_DOGS, Jordi is thrown off of the lighthouse and then just… survives in the post-credits. There isn’t really any extra information we can throw in here, but while the feat might generally be okay to use, there just isn’t a lot of context that gives us means to outright accept it since it happens off-screen. For the benefit of the doubt, however, we will be using it since it gives more values to base off of in Aiden’s case and makes the numbers a bit closer… also, just really funny feat to apply.
Force Crushing
In an easter egg outfit present in WATCH_DOGS 2, Marcus is able to unlock an outfit known as the Shuffler. This gives him a special kill animation where he crushes a person into a ball, and that’s… about it. There’s no real reason for Marcus to scale to this himself given it’s not really a power he has access to normally, and only specifically works on gang members in-game. Even if he did scale to it, it’s not necessarily consistent with the series’ showings for physicality given characters on Marcus’ level don’t really often crush people to death like this (and usually die from far lesser). Like with the prior feat mentioned, there isn’t really much to discuss here. Given these aren’t really plot-relevant feats and this one in particular comes from an easter egg that most players won’t even find out about, it’s not necessarily a feat that has a lot of ground to stand on to begin with.
WTFBOOM
In specific instances in WATCH_DOGS LΞGION, characters are able to withstand explosions. One such example comes from the London’s Protectors missions where the playable character can withstand minor explosions. While there are no outright issues with the idea of applying these explosions to durabiltiy, as you can withstand them close to their epicenter, it’s very unlikely that you can legitimately scale these to the cast.
A big problem with this feat is the factor that explosions are very inconsistent in damage, but ultimately one-shot Aiden in his base game without upgrades. While it is true that Enforcers can withstand similar explosions, Aiden explicitly does need upgrades specifically for Enforcer take-downs with his baton, rather than any sort of stat amplification. Another issue with application of this value is that it is a very big outlier, since there are simply no other feats that Aiden feasibly scales to that can get this reasonably high. In tandem, we’ve seen that narratively similar explosions can threaten him, such as in the finale of WATCH_DOGS where he needs to outmaneuver hacks done by Damien Brenks like with pipe bursts. Even for other similar durability feats like Nigel withstanding explosions, these feats have to factor in surface area and that we have no idea where Nigel would be in comparison to the explosion, making it generally very difficult to apply these sorts of feats anyways.
The biggest caveat, however, is that this is a feat that can ultimately one-shot Aiden anyways. Even towards withstanding missiles from Nigel’s robot, they can leave Aiden right on the brink of death even without being caught in their epicenter, and are very much intended to be threatening to Aiden’s life if he isn’t taking cover and always on the move. When you apply these to traps that normally one-shot enemies even when outside of their epicenter and already require specific positioning to withstand, it makes it fairly unbelievable to argue Aiden scales to these physically for the grounds of “he’s that durable” rather than a fault of the game in aspects like collision hitboxes. For this reason, we aren’t going to be applying this feat simply because it would not make sense. It is a really heavy outlier, and if anything boils down to a gameplay feat that contradicts the narrative precedence.
Bullet Dodging
In Hitman: Blood Money, a special mechanic of the Ninjas in certain missions is that they have the ability to, if they see you, jump out of the way of your gunfire. While this might be really impressive at a first glance, there a lot of caveats and hoops to jump through when looking more in depth into this feat.
For starters, one big prevalent issue in these calculations is that ninjas will jump out of the way of Agent 47’s bullets as he pulls the trigger, and can still generally be caught by bullets within missions not only if they’re fast enough but generally if Agent 47 is able to take them out at a close range or if he can aim before they can see him. Unless Agent 47 were supposedly moving at blinding speeds when he shoots (which would be narratively inconsistent for reasons in a moment), it is simply not possible for him to be blitzing the reactions of ninjas in close combat or with his own guns if they can dodge at closer ranges whenever seeing him. Due to the nature of the ninja dodge mechanic happening the exact frame Agent 47 shoots his gun and requiring them to look at Agent 47, while still being able to be shot at the same ranges. The bullet dodging itself could be accurate disregarding frame mechanics because bullets do have projectile speeds and the general range of dodging hasn’t been fully tested (even by myself), the issue here is that the feat itself comes off a lot more as the ninjas aim-dodging through technique even if it is technically moving in tandem.
Another general issue with this feat is that it narratively would not be consistent. Not only does Agent 47 never actually canonically fight ninjas like this (as he does complete stealth and is the route we see him complete in the Legacy trailer) and thus holds no narrative precedence, but is heavily contradicted by the story laid out later in the game. Across the series we do see explicitly that Agent 47 and his general cast cannot react to gunfire, with the exception of during point-shooting. It is a heavy outlier, especially since the following game (Contracts) opposes this idea because the whole narrative is about Agent 47 facing his physical limits and reflecting on his past because he got shot in the gut and was near death. In tandem with this, even with the legitimacy of this feat, it is very unlikely Agent 47 himself would actually scale just because the logistics of “he scales to someone who dodged his attacks because he can take them out from behind” is a bit silly. With the fact that Silent Assassin doesn’t have any close-quarters combat system beyond stealth kills, it is very unlikely you could argue Agent 47 scales to these trained ninjas in physical speed without him taking them out with sheer skill combat.
While that is also a big argument to make, Agent 47 is no stranger to taking down targets greater than him with sheer skill, as the missions after in this game have him face off against Mark Parchezzi III who consistently outspeeds him in combat and on foot, yet was still was defeated by Agent 47’s stealth. This is further consistent with the general difficulty system, as one of the big caveats with higher levels is a greater reaction speed. This is more notable because difficulties such as Purist is regarded as giving players the chance to actually trying to replicate the scenarios Agent 47 is put in with their own skills, so the idea that “Agent 47 can keep up with faster people with his skill and stealth” does fit with how he gets portrayed too.
While nonetheless impressive, there are a lot of grounds in the story and gameplay that Agent 47 just would not make sense to be treated as a bullet timer (without Absolution’s point-shooting, which is a limited perception amp) in the narrative. The simple addition with how Agent 47 never actually canonically fights the ninjas head-on, is a feat from relatively early on in the franchise from a notoriously inconsistent era of games, and the feat’s own mechanical inconsistencies makes it really hard to legitimately argue in favor of this.
Verdict
Stats
For starters, we’ll look at their most comparable stat: Speed.
Both combatants pretty consistently scale to those able to outpace the reactions of trained fighters, with both ultimately having the means to bop and weave around gunfire if need be when they’re in a fight. Neither have an outright advantage, however Agent 47’s greater on-foot speed (due to his training and thereafter movement speed amplification) could make him a slightly greater threat in this regard. The most interesting comparison is their ability to slow down time, with both combatants sharing this ability with their perceptions. In both cases, both combatants perceive everyone at a near-standstill, and most notably both can perceive explosions at a standstill. Visually, though, Agent 47 is simply more impressive.
In regards to the direct Instinct and Focus comparison, Agent 47’s Instinct actively gives him the means to react to attacks and fire in response, white Aiden’s focus is very reliant on him activating it in tandem with aiming. In addition, Agent 47 being able to aim down sights without being affected by slowing down his perception speed gives him a big advantage in a quickdraw, while Aiden will be much slower to aim down sights because he is in turn slowed down by his ADS. With their limited supply, this quickdraw becomes very important, and Agent 47 being able to aim and fire earlier than Aiden Pearce mechanically in their perception slows means he will more than likely be able to land attacks. While both scale to similar feats, Agent 47’s perception slow acts in tandem with his reaction speed and allows him to aim alongside it, while Aiden’s perception slow is still detrimental to his own speed even when he aims. This edge goes in favor of Agent 47, due to this slight difference in usage.
As for strength, here’s where it becomes a bit more interested. Agent 47 and Aiden Pearce are not necessarily combatants known for physical combat, but Agent 47 is the more physically powerful fighter. Not only does he have enough strength to knock down heavy industrial doors (a feat worth 7.8 Kilojoules), but he also scales to his uncle Sergei, who’s door-busting feat gets him all the way up to 767.496 Kilojoules! Even with the application of feats like Jordi’s lighthouse fall that could get around 9.8 Kilojoules, the sheer physical gap meant that Agent 47 was around 78 times stronger!
Admittedly, a well-placed gunshot could still end either combatant, so this wasn’t really a fight that would come down to who can win in an arm-wrestle or fistfight. In fact, because of their stealth tactics and usage of their technology, the power category would be far more notable when we look at the strength of explosives in their kit. Both wield similarly powerful explosions comparable to pretty high numbers, particularly with how Agent 47’s more advanced explosives of the ICA could stack up to the traps set up by Aiden. While both could effectively take out the other, the greatest explosions Agent 47 had access to could land around 40.1 Megajoules to 1.1 Tons of TNT at their greatest ends, while Aiden and other operatives had explosions on the level of traps like the propane canisters, which land around 10.46 Megajoules to 0.1 Tons of TNT. There is an obvious power difference here, but the important note is that both of their average if not strongest techs could give the means to end the fight. There are a few more complicated factors to explosion, but the general power here while a jarring difference would ultimately be comparable because they will take down either party regardless.
The more interesting point to take this is down to their weaponry, and how impressive it stands on its own ground. Obviously, Agent 47’s bullets do scale to that aforementioned Kilojoule value, but Aiden’s anti-material rifles with armor piercing in particular can pierce through a foot of concrete, so these guns aren’t slackers either. The sheer kinetic energy output of a single bullet from the Destroyer could hit around 15 Kilojoules, which meant that it was very unlikely Agent 47 could be entirely bulletproof from Aiden Pearce’s weaponry with levels of armor penetration, although it’s likely that Agent 47 could shrug off lower-ends but would eventually succumb to a higher calibre or enough bullets being shot into his body. If you took the whole foot of concrete point quite literally as a high ball, it’s far more likely Aiden’s higher calibre bullets would have more than enough energy to rip through Agent 47. However, this is with Aiden’s specific bullets he can only apply at a long range, and his lesser non-armor penetrating bullets from more typical weaponry can’t do much to opponents far stronger than him. In these cases, he has relied on explosions or specific techniques, so it’s not unlikely to argue that this category could be a tie off of that logic alone.
While Agent 47 is a far stronger combatant, both combatants are likely going to be able to kill eachother with a well-placed gunshot. Even if Agent 47 was too durable for Aiden’s firepower, both combatants have means to one-shot one another in the fight if need be and their higher calibres of weapons have no trouble being able to instantly put an end to the fight. For this reason, we’ll consider this category a Tie, although Agent 47 definitely is the more physically greater combatant.
But when push comes to shove, neither combatant is immediately going to let the other come at them head-on. A big aspect both share is their skills, and how well they’d come prepared to a fight before ever initiating it.
Skills
Aiden and 47 are immensely skillful stealth operatives, so it would make sense for stealth to come firsthand in a fight. In tandem with this, both combatants very often scout out their surroundings before initiating combat, especially in information gathering. While neither outright bring extraneous preparation to a fight, they would certainly spend an attempt at scouting out one another, which is where skill and preparation comes in.
For starters, when looking at direct combat skill and experience, it is rather evident between these two in regards to the greater experience and skill. Aiden Pearce is no slouch in combat and has been a vigilante for a majority of his life, chasing targets endlessly for months on-end to nearly a whole year, and then ending a big part of Chicago’s corruption and then some during that year. His vigilante acts spread farther out than just Chicago, and he was seen pursuing targets across the United States, ultimately to where he sought refuge in London and continued operations under DedSec. While he has lived constantly on the edge in pursuit, Agent 47 has been trained since birth as a combatant and has the experience to back it up. While Agent 47 has been tied up a few times in indirect failure, like losing to Sanchez once in Absolution or being tricked by his clone brother Lucas Grey, he has otherwise had a perfect track of missions across his whole time at the ICA for years. Even when accounting for his failures, he has infiltrated hundreds of high profile destinations, and his exceptional skill in various fields gives him an overall edge in experience too.
However, a sort-of double edged blade is his support from Diana. While he retains an obvious lot of skills and capabilities, a big part in his missions is being relayed information that can keep him up to date on what a target is doing. Even though he can see what his target is doing, Diana offers Agent 47 the means to know exact actions and find out routes for an assassination. He is absolutely a wall of skill feats on his own, but comparatively, Aiden works far more solo and very intentionally so. While he does work with Jordi, Clara, T-Bone, or even just DedSec in general a lot across his series, this roots from his resourcefulness more than action in missions and has impressed all of them in his capabilities. Given he was able to impress Clara and perform hacking not even DedSec could perform at that point, as well as his extensive legendary ranking in DedSec’s members, Aiden is a blatantly far more resourceful solo hacker, which means that he would still have the means to exploit his mastery of hacking against Agent 47. On the other hand, Aiden isn’t one to have issue with comms in combat, and very often uses them to his advantage in missions.
With this in mind, Aiden would certainly have the resourcefulness to hold off a variety of 47’s advantages in skill through sheer ingenuity and his advanced hacking skills. While the ICA and Diana herself have displayed this sort of hacking access, it has never been in a short time frame enough that it could hold off Aiden’s greatest skill feats from being important. He does not have much formal training in direct combat and distinctly far less experience as a combatant, but his main skill is something Agent 47 simply would not be able to match generally speaking. For this reason, we’ll have to bring this down a Tie, as both combatants have respectable advantages that would take priority over one another. Agent 47 is an overall far greater combatant who could likely figure out Aiden’s hacking in the long run, but Aiden’s advantages with hacking skill still makes him a more versatile combatant in applying his skill to a fight with homefield advantage despite Agent 47’s familiarity to homefield disadvantage.
Prep & Support
This comes in tandem with preparation, too. While Agent 47’s key advantage to all missions is his means to prepare, and always exploits how he can gather intel by sneaking around, Aiden does it too… but can also do it with his hacking, giving him a wide variety of environmental access that has allowed him to download and take intel without ever being present. Even with more indirect means of gathering intel with Diana’s satellites, the huge servers present with Bagley means that Aiden can indeed match that. Even though preparation for 47 gives him the means to set up for literally any situation against Aiden and gain information on him before eventually striking, possibly down to learning literally everything he can do, he does not outright have the tools necessary that can lessen Aiden’s means to do the same.
Given both combatants have the means to figure out and be aware of the other stalking them and figuring out their gimmicks with intuition and intel, it’s not likely either combatant would waltz in unwarily, either. Agent 47 always puts the upmost attention to his environment, how he can use everything and everyone in it to his advantage, something that would likely give him the means to workaround gimmicks in Aiden’s arsenal. Plus, while Aiden’s reliance on environmental tactics– once figuring out what he can hack, or a general outline– would be beneficial in the short run, Agent 47 could immediately figure it out and thereafter set up a way to get to Aiden without worry. While it would be difficult, his intuition and skill would give him the right tools for the job in hatching a plan to get the drops on Aiden.
Given that Agent 47 cannot be researched with Aiden’s Profiler, and identity theft with disguises would likely be an issue for Aiden finding out any potential weaknesses, it’s very unlikely Aiden can actually keep track of Agent 47 the whole time. Even with the means to monitor him with facial recognition, Agent 47 is no stranger to this sort of gimmick and can easily exploit it in turn, especially when he can take advantage of this gimmick of similar facial structures to hide in the crowd. This is something that Aiden himself has used to trick high-class ctOS users, so it’s not unlikely that the same thing could prevent something like Security Footage from being consistently active. Plus, as we’ve seen in WATCH_DOGS Tokyo, the ctOS cameras fail to find you even if your face is obscured by face paint, and Agent 47 himself uses Instinct as a mechanic to hide his face to completely remove suspicion. With identity theft and Agent 47’s disguises acting as a barrier against the profiler, unless Aiden was open to finding Agent 47 before he ever went on the hunt and researched everyone who looks like him on public surveillance with cameras in order to blow him up with a hack, it’s unlikely Aiden would actually be able to keep track of Agent 47 the entire fight while Agent 47’s intel gathering with Diane eventually gives him the means to find Aiden.
For this reason, while both combatants can maintain preparation for the fight and keep an eye on their opponent in order to gather enough information to find the opportune moment to strike, both have pretty similar advantages here. Agent 47, despite his lesser environmental application, is always attentive to his surroundings and would be tech-savvy enough to figure out a blatant inner working to ctOS. Combine this with Instinct’s key items and targeting system, it would likely give Agent 47 the means to figure out what items would be key to take out, such as cameras, or avoiding specific traps like explosives that could end the fight for him. While Agent 47 is more than capable enough to outlast in the long run, Aiden’s advantage of preparation gives him a huge foot up that might give the means to figure out a way to end the fight. His access to any ctOS technology and being able to in turn gather intel without ever being present exceeds Agent 47’s “enter and disappear like a ghost” method to assassinations, because he can simply be somewhere else in the city while being able to potentially figure out Agent 47’s whereabouts with Security Footage. Even then, Agent 47 takes another step up from here because disguises prevent Aiden from really finding out where he is, as the identity theft factor has tricked the system before and would force Aiden to have to sift through faces himself rather than look through ctOS.
Both have far more than enough means to one-up one another with tactics, and their supports give them extensive means to locate and find information on the opponent. While Aiden definitely benefits more because he does not need to often physically be around 47 to gain intel on him and figure him out in order to find an opportune point to end the fight, Agent 47 in turn has a lot more counters to Aiden’s main way of finding information as it would be rather difficult to just look up Agent 47 or listen into him talk due to his privacy and assassination tactics. In the right circumstances, Agent 47 can take this category in the long run, although Aiden could potentially discover Agent 47 on his own just with his Security Footage ability and having more immediate grounds to find Agent 47 via camera systems and the ctOS servers. With all that in mind, it is more than likely Aiden has the grounds to take preparation, although both combatants have pretty good arguments for taking this category either way.
Support is in a similar boat, too. As mentioned, Diana and Bagley give both combatants effectively equal information, as Bagley’s ability to work in ctOS separately from Aiden as well as mark targets or set up EMPs through servers means he has a lot of tools at his disposal to support Aiden directly. However, Diana offers a far greater advantage in this category.
While it is true that Aiden has the exact means to shut down Diana (more on this in a following category) being able to communicate to Agent 47, these are very short-term advantages. Diana always keeps in communication with Agent 47 across every mission, and although Aiden is far more advanced of a combatant gathering intel without support, once you bring up Agent 47 and Diana’s partnership… there’s definitely a bigger problem there. Mind you that Agent 47 has a 100% rate of success in missions in combination with Diana, rather than alone, and the defeats he faces in Absolution are likely in part with that teamwork being so impactful to how he knows what to do on missions. Without the ICA’s resources and currently Diana’s means to support him, he has had trouble taking on missions often. On the other hand, Bagley is a general worker for DedSec and his relationship with Aiden was only present during his time in London, so it’s very unlikely they formed as close of a bond as Agent 47 has with Diana in taking missions.
Diana’s satellites also grant a lot more information for Agent 47 to use. The infra-red satellites give Agent 47 the means to know opponents’ locations even in the dark and gives him important intelligence on how to catch targets off guard because Diana can simultaneously read into patterns and give 47 a route to take in missions, while Agent 47 himself works more on the ground because he can read more direct maneuevers like patrol routes in these missions that Diana wouldn’t have enough information in the sky. This is a perfect partnership between the two that has only caused Agent 47 to falter when he’s caught without Diana’s help, and as portrayed in Absolution, even without her, the ICA’s general intel and support gives him a huge step up in missions than going in without any preparation.
On the other hand, while Bagley offers a very similar intel and can support Aiden more directly, the real limit here is ctOS. As mentioned prior, a big factor of ctOS is that Aiden is very reliant upon it and that is something Agent 47 can exploit, so Bagley being able to work on the grid similarly has disadvantages. While Bagley could hypothetically also spam comm disruption and break up Diana and 47, we have explicitly seen in general that hacking can be prevented just by being out of range– something that can be easily done with disrupting cameras– so it’s likely Agent 47 can counter Bagley in the same way he would be able to prevent Aiden from remotely attacking. With Diana’s support, Agent 47 would have more broader ranges of finding Aiden because these are international satellites allowing him to track through cities and walls, while Aiden would need to rely on catching Agent 47 without a disguise in public in front of a camera or around ctOS technology that Instinct Mode might likely highlight as key objects for Agent 47 to keep in mind, assuming Diana herself wouldn’t be able to gather the explicit public records of Chicago’s hacktivist history with ctOS that Aiden would be performing.
Mind you that Bagley is nothing to scoff at for being able to work with Aiden side-by-side, but Diana is a far more powerful support for Agent 47 both in tandem with their experience together and her means to support Agent 47 more with his routes of taking down Aiden than Bagley would since he can only support Aiden in ways that he can already perform solo and Agent 47 could in turn already work around. Between the parties of either combatant, Diana is ultimately the greater support.
With skill and on-the-fly research being effectively equal between these two due to their generally very even advantages in these departments, the most important part of this debate would have to come down to one final category: who would actually win in a direct fight?
Arsenal and Abilities
These two combatants have very extensive arsenals of weapons and tech at their disposal, and are always used to gain advantage in combat. At a glance, both have very similar overall arsenals, fit with a variety of different firearms. Aiden and 47 both draw from several different varieties of pistols, machine guns, and rifles, with their more powerful firearms being their ranged sniper rifles. Both also have a similar variety of explosives and miscellaneous weaponry, wielding disruptive devices such as Agent 47’s variety of gas grenades or noise distractions and Aiden’s tear gas or lures. However, while Aiden does match Agent 47 in most regards and has weaponry that could circumvent Agent 47 being physically stronger, such as the LTL tasers, inversely Agent 47 has guns that could also end the fight way faster such as the variety of dart guns with poisons.
Even with something like the AR Cloak or Spider-Bot, these weapons aren’t really advantageous, as the AR Cloak only works on Optiks and can be easily bypassed by people with far less advanced senses than 47, while the variety of mini robots Aiden uses… could just get shot… While Aiden also wields a particular amount of grenade launchers in his kit, one avenue that Agent 47 isn’t able to outright match, in turn Agent 47 has a far more extensive kit of weapons like remote explosives that Aiden also doesn’t take advantage in. So… this is basically a tie, right?
However, this is unlikely to be the case. Both Agent 47 and Aiden particularly wield special abilities that work in tandem with combat, with Agent 47’s skills in the trade and Instinct giving him the means to extensively prepare in combat situations. This means that he can likely read through any of Aiden’s means of stealth and prevent him from pulling off a sneaky attack unless coming from behind, and his ability to read the movement of enemies means he can likely set up explosives more intricately. On the other hand, Aiden’s hacking gives him extensive comms in a fight and the means to intercept support from Diana or the potential to activate remote explosives that 47 places down. In tandem, his environmental control would give him the means to disrupt Agent 47 in a variety of ways, although in turn his opponent’s Instinct would prevent Aiden from using his hacking to get a drop on him. With more intricate abilities like the Blackout in Aiden’s kit, Agent 47’s instinct would give him a means to circumvent it and the Blackout would prevent Aiden himself from disrupting Comms, so Diana’s support with infrared satellites and overseeing the fight would give Agent 47 the tools necessary to take on Aiden in this regard.
With a superiority in a quickdraw due to the inherent advantages of point-shooting vs. Focus, Agent 47 more than likely has the right abilities to end the fight. With a distinctly greater perception speed tied to his reactions, it means he’ll likely be able to aim and shoot far quicker than Aiden would be able to. This means that regarding abilities, for what matters, Agent 47’s instinct can offer a greater advantage than Aiden in combat. In tandem with Diane’s support, it gives him the means to locate Aiden and shut down the fight in close quarters or otherwise his Instinct would allow Agent 47 to be able to end the fight in an immediate quickdraw. While Aiden is definitely comparable if both combatants were already aiming at one another, Aiden’s focus as mentioned is not built for fights where he has to draw his weapon first, it is primarily built around giving Aiden the means to take on several targets after shooting one and aiming to the next. On the other hand, Instinct and point-shooting is entirely designed around Agent 47 being able to take on targets before they can see him, both being especially useful in drawing his gun first on an enemy in combat and thereafter pulling the trigger first.
With Agent 47 ultimately taking abilities, it’s more likely that despite the fact both combatants wield similar arsenals with specific advantages, Aiden would likely get less to pull from. His hacking could likely give him the means to win the fight if Agent 47 was unfamiliar with Aiden or did not have Diane’s support, as it likely could interfere with remote detonations or detonate explosives on Agent 47 if Aiden kept track of the agent the full time. However, combined with Agent 47’s mastery of disguises, Aiden would not have enough time to properly find Agent 47 without potentially confusing him with another person due to how identities function in the Profiler. The Profiler offers a ton of means to sift through identities and look through Agent 47’s disguises, but has explicitly been deceived by Aiden and others by very simple maneuevers. With his support from Diane and general tactics, it’s likely he would be able to stealth out of the way of any ctOS machinery that Aiden could use to find him, while Aiden inversely does not have enough means to easily prevent Agent 47 from finding him due to Diane’s support and in turn Agent 47’s sheer skill and intuition.
This doesn’t mean Aiden is helpless, as he still has the right tools to take out Agent 47, such as with explosives or being able to gun him down, especially with stronger weapons with armor piercing or likely being able to just knock him out with the right set of weapons. However, Agent 47’s application of his kit due to his overall skill advantage makes up for this, as while both take entirely different grounds of skill, the secret assassin’s variety of poisons and sedatives meant that he’d have a way easier time knocking out Aiden than the Fox would when having to shoot Agent 47 a lot with stun guns. However, Agent 47’s advantages in speed and far greater physical power makes a lot of the means of taking him out pretty difficult for Aiden, as he would not be able to perform physical takedowns, his go-to tactic in situations even against stronger foes. With all of this in mind, it’s unlikely that Aiden’s arsenal and variety of tech would actually give him the means to circumvent all of Agent 47’s most notable advantages here.
Conclusion
Agent 47
“No one is untouchable.”
“...It’s good to be back.”
Advantages:
Far stronger, having the means to counter a majority of Aiden’s close combat.
Instinct Mode’s point-shooting gives a lot more merit in a quickdraw due to being used to take targets on while they’re off-guard rather than solely in combat.
Larger arsenal size.
Instinct gives a foot-up in countering stealth with precognition, extended vision, and slowing down time.
Without an Optik, AR technology is useless.
Diana’s international satellites offer far more information than Bagley’s ctOS control.
Far greater stealth, and disguises can prevent the Profiler from finding Agent 47.
“What if he just… took the phone…” 🤓
Neutral:
Agent 47 is accustomed to being in a homefield disadvantage, which renders advantages like Aiden using ctOS to alter the environment moot
Similar speeds with and without perception slowing.
Similar power with firearms, rendering physical advantages generally similar because both always lead with headshots.
Similar range overall with both explosives and firearms…
… but only Diana herself can keep up with Aiden’s disjointed hacking that allows surveillance outside of his standard hacking range.
Diane and Bagley can still offer counters to stealth overall…
… and Bagley’s hacking can close off Diane’s interactions with 47 for a short time.
Disadvantages:
Far less skilled in hacking, although still decipherable.
Requires support from Diane to find out Aiden’s location if he isn’t in the area.
Does not have a grenade launcher.
Tear gas and LTL firearms can incapacitate Agent 47 if it comes down to these options.
Explosives can still kill Agent 47 if he’s caught in one.
Bagley can interfere with Diana and prevent her from supporting Agent 47 for a bit.
Aiden Pearce
"Haven’t you heard? I’m the Vigilante. I clean up mess like you.”
Advantages:
Natural homefield advantage with hacking, allowing him to freely use the environment to his advantage.
Far more skilled within hacking…
… but Agent 47 is far more skilled regarding actual environmental usage.
Profiler could allow him to gather intel on Agent 47 or look through disguises…
… but Instinct and the general identity theft mechanic prevents Aiden from doing this if Agent 47 is disguised.
Bagley and Interfere Comms. can cut off Diana’s interactions from Agent 47 for a period of time.
Has a grenade launcher.
Tear gas and LTL firearms can end the fight without needing to kill, assuming Agent 47 could be argued to withstand Aiden’s gunshots.
Neutral:
Similar speeds with and without perception slowing.
Similar power with firearms, rendering physical advantages generally similar because both always lead with headshots.
Similar range overall with both explosives and firearms.
Diane and Bagley can still offer counters to stealth overall…
… but leans toward Aiden having advantage especially with Bagley being able to act as a secondary hacker alongside Aiden who can locate targets while Diane is restricted to interacting through an earpiece that can be intercepted.
Disadvantages:
Limited battery on hacking, so overextended usage can prevent him from interfering with comms. or taking out Agent 47 with hacks.
Explosives are unreliable takedown options as they need to be environmentally based or Agent 47 has to walk in the path of his own.
Far weaker in physical combat.
No means to find out Agent 47 if he’s well hidden enough, which he should be skilled enough to do.
Cannot access any records for Agent 47 with Bagley, while inversely Diana could at least find records for general inner workings of ctOS.
No counters to Instinct overall.
Bullet resistance could not work on Agent 47 using literally anything else… or a headshot.
Explosive resistance would not give him enough means to survive a point-blank detonation.
Obligatory comment about WATCH_DOGS falling off.
Both of these combatants are immensely capable fighters, so they’d obviously be no slouch against one another. Aiden is a very capable hacker, and his environmental influence gives him a huge advantage in the fight, offering means to take out Agent 47 if he plays his cards right. With access to direct counters to Diana’s support and the means to stay out of Agent 47’s combat range with disjointed hacking through ctOS, it’s likely he could stall in this fight long enough to find an opportune moment to take out Agent 47.
However, this would imply that Agent 47 is a sitting duck in this fight, which he very much would not be. While it is true that Aiden has the right cards to end the fight, his Profiler and general means of using tech give him a huge weakness, which play right into the most standard of tactics with Aiden. Due to Agent 47’s disguises and stealth, it’s unlikely Aiden would find the opportunity to set off detontions on Agent 47 to kill him, even with support from Bagley. On the other hand, Agent 47’s support from Diana gives him the means to exactly scout out where Aiden is in the fight, and make his way to him. While something like Security Footage or a Comms. Interference boost would do wonders here, it’s unlikely they would actually prolong Aiden enough to find the means to kill Agent 47.
Eventually, Agent 47 would more than likely be able to end the fight from here. Having the means to obtain Aiden’s location means that he’d be able to get the drop on the Vigilante, and his physical advantage as well as a generally more useful perception slowing ability in a stealth fight means that he’ll be able to end the fight pretty quickly. Their similar varieties of firearms means that they’ll be otherwise able to match eachother, and these slight distincts become really important. With faster-enacting incapacitation advantages, more reliable varieties of grenades and poisons, as well as explosives meant that Agent 47 would likely be able to apply his arsenal a lot more thoroughly, despite Aiden’s grenade launchers and the like being really powerful options.
All in all, while Aiden is certainly a capable fixer with some of the greatest skills in hacking seen in the world, he simply did not have the right kit to take down Agent 47 in the long run. His paranoia might have been right all along, since… Well, he just couldn’t keep up once this untouchable Chameleon could Pearce his way to victory.
The winner is Agent 47.
That was a good blog.
